Seen at the Muafakat Nasional Raya party, is Ismail seeking trouble with Umno?

Seen at the Muafakat Nasional Raya party, is Ismail seeking trouble with Umno?

A RECENT photo that went viral on Twitter shows our former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri attending the Aidil-Fitri Muafakat Nasional (MN) Open House.

Former communication and multimedia minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin and Malay Proclamation Secretariat Secretary Datuk Wira Marzuki Yahya were also at the event.

In a tweet, @Salim_Iskandar said Ismail was accompanied by Marzuki Yahya.

The tweet claimed that Malay Proclamation Secretariat Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mat Zin was also present.

After the rumours of several UMNO MPs planning to jump ship to the Pakatan Harapan (PH), one would have thought that UMNO MPs would be careful in their meetings with PN leaders.

Nevertheless, the photograph set tongues wagging on Twitter.

Discussions are ongoing as people ask questions about the fate of the Malays while the ‘rich’ have meetings in the name of the Malay population.

It appears that netizens are calling out the irony of this whole situation. Most of the users are saying Malaysians are mostly B40 citizens while the people in the picture are very rich Malays who do not bother about their fate.

A Twitter user with the username of @AdiVon666 stated that regardless of these proclamations, the people in this alleged photo are getting richer and richer.

“They are dining lavishly, while the majority of the Malays are B40 people and are working hard to live a decent life.”

Another Twitter user @mhdfrhnrhni questioned:

“Is the ‘Malay’ part in this whole programme only referring to the family and friends of the individuals in the said photograph?”

He also speculated that there is no intention for them to help or take care of the real Malays in this country.

Meanwhile, user @Arsya_loq added:

“There are many Malays who are among the B40 or poor. If you include the Malay assets of the leaders in this picture, and share their wealth with the Malays, there will be no poor Malays in this country."
