PAS sec-gen: Annuar Musa almost certain joining us, Khairy most likely be with Bersatu
FORMER UMNO warlord and Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa has sent out a strong signal of his next political move on the social media by donning an all-green tracksuit yesterday (May 18).
“May this day be the beginning of a better day for all,” he philosophised on his latest Facebook post. “Life is quite a journey. It remains winding but those who are strong and patient will make every step as a drive towards excellence and success, God willing.”
Hours later yesterday evening, PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the former communications and multimedia minister would be joining the Islamist party along with several former UMNO leaders.
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) chief whip further divulged that as many as 10 former UMNO leaders including Annuar have already submitted their membership application forms to either PAS or Bersatu.
“Today l would like to say that at least 10 former UMNO leaders will be joining PN as associate members,” the New Straits Times quoted Takiyuddin as saying.

“I would also want to confirm that TS Annuar has handed over his application form to join as a PAS member. We will announce their entry soon.”
In a related development, Takiyuddin who is also a three-term Kota Bharu MP said former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin would most likely be joining Bersatu.
The co-host of podcast Keluar Sekejap and part-time deejay with Hot FM is said to have received offer from Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to join the UMNO splinter party alongside a supreme council spot.
Recall that Khairy who was also the former Rembau MP was expelled from UMNO along with the party’s Tanjung Karang division chief Tan Sri Noh Omar over allegations of having sabotaged the party while Sembrong MP and former Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein was also suspended from the party for six years.
Nevertheless, Takiyuddin who was also the former Energy and Natural Resources minister said PN has yet to decide whether to field the new members as candidates in the coming state polls.
“This will only be decided by the coalition’s higher leaders,” he added. – May 19, 2023
