Thousands of fake Sputnik V shots seized in Mexico
MOSCOW: Authorities in Mexico have seized a batch of fake doses of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine, the Russian Direct Investment Fund, which is responsible for exports of the Covid-19 vaccine, said on Thursday.
“Earlier today Mexican authorities seized a batch of vaccines designed and packaged as Sputnik V,” the RDIF sovereign wealth fund said.
“Analysis of the photographs of the seized batch, including the design of containers and labels, suggests that it is a fake substance which has nothing to do with the original vaccine,” the fund said in a statement.
The first shipment of the Sputnik V vaccine – a delivery of 200,000 doses – arrived in Mexico on Feb 23. It was approved for emergency use by Mexican regulators earlier last month.
The fake batch of 5,775 doses was seized at Campeche International Airport in Mexico, a government statement said. It had been en route by private plane to Honduras.
The bottles, whose labels featured spelling errors in Russian, were hidden among soft drink cans in an icebox, images shared by the government showed.

Police in China and South Africa have seized thousands of fake doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, the global police organisation Interpol said on Wednesday, warning this represented only the “tip of the iceberg” in vaccine-related crime.
The Lyon-based agency Interpol said 400 vials – equivalent to around 2,400 doses – containing the fake vaccine were found at a warehouse in Germiston outside Johannesburg in South Africa, where officers also recovered fake masks and arrested three Chinese and a Zambian national.
In China, police successfully identified a network selling counterfeit Covid-19 vaccines in an investigation supported by Interpol, which has 194 member countries, it said.
They raided the manufacturing premises, resulting in the arrest of around 80 suspects and seized more than 3,000 fake vaccines on the scene, it said.
US federal agents have seized roughly 10m fake N95 masks in recent weeks
Interpol earlier this year issued an “Orange Notice” warning authorities worldwide to prepare for organised crime networks targeting Covid-19 vaccines, both physically and online.

PUTRAJAYA (March 4): The Ministry of Health (MOH) today warned the public against responding to online advertisements on the sale of Covid-19 vaccines in the country.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the vaccines can only be supplied to the Government and authorised parties.
He said the MOH’s Pharmacy Enforcement Division through the cyber forensic unit is constantly working with local authorities and INTERPOL to monitor the sale of vaccines online.
Speaking at a press conference on the development of Covid-19 today, Dr Noor Hisham said there were online advertisements promoting the sale of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for RM63.88.
In this regard, he advised the public to always ensure that the Covid-19 vaccines they receive are only those provided by facilities under the MOH at no charge.

Some people who have received the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine in the United Arab Emirates have had to be given a third dose to boost their response, according to local health authorities.
Doctors said that the antibody response to two doses of the vaccine — the main one offered in the UAE’s successful programme — had been variable.
Although the UAE health ministry has given few details, local newspapers reported that a “small” proportion of those who had received doses needed a third.

If that f*cked writer had done a proper fact check with any reputed immunologist, he/she would know that vaccine inoculations of more than two doses r fictional fart or done by hp6 'doctors'.
Vaccine imitate the virus to induce the body defense system to generate killer T-cells to fight the possible invading virus.
First dose awaken (recognition) the body defense system to start producing the combating T-cell. Depending on the strength of the invading virus, a second dose is sometimes required.
But that's the maximum & the last dose inoculated.
Bcoz, if the body defense system cannot produce the relevant T-cell in sufficient amount after the second dose, no additional doses would help to increase the T-cell numbers.
In fact, due to the presence of excessive amount of foreign cells( dead, alive or half-alive vaccines) a possible cytokinin storm would result - meaning the body defense system would create excessive & various strains of T-cells. These various & large amount of T-cells would attack ALL body system cells, resulting in multiple organ failures & dead!
