A MAN pleaded not guilty at the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court today to 51 charges, including 17 cases of incest and 34 cases of sexual assault against his daughter between May 12 and August 2.


He was also charged of taking nude photos of the victim.

The charges against the 41-year-old accused were read out by the court interpreter before Judge Haderiah Siri.

For the 17 charges of incest against his biological daughter, who is now 18 years old, the accused, who works as a technician, was charged under Section 376B of the Penal Code, which carries a prison sentence of between 10 and 30 years and whipping.

The accused wase also charged under Section 14(a) and Section 14(b) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 read together with Section 16 (1) of the same act for committing physical sexual assault against the same victim, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and whipping, while Section 16 (1) of the SOCCA 2017 provides for a prison sentence of up to five years and two whippings.

All the offences were allegedly committed at a house in Taman Tambak Paya Harmoni.

The accused was also charged for making child pornography by taking two photos of his biological child naked in the bathroom at the same place on July 9, at about 7 am.

Those convicted could face a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and a minimum of five strokes of the cane.

Deputy Public Prosecutor, Muhamad Ehsan Nasarudin proposed bail of RM20,000 for each charge with additional conditions that the accused is prohibited from harassing the victim and prosecution witnesses, reporting to the police station every two weeks every month and surrendering his passport to the court.

However, the accused, who was not represented, admitted in his appeal that he could not afford to pay the bail, claiming that his wife had taken his savings before taking the child away from home.

The court then allowed the accused bail of RM90,000 for all charges with additional conditions that the prosecution request and set September 18 for the case to be mentioned again for the submission of documents and the appointment of a lawyer. – August 12, 2025
