KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 — China Global TV Network (CGTN) has listed Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah as one of the world’s top three doctors ‘born’ from public health officials in handling the Covid-19 outbreak, alongside the United States of America’s Dr Anthony Fauci and New Zealand’s Dr Ashley Bloomfield.

On its website yesterday, CGTN said it has crowned Dr Noor Hisham as one of the top doctors in the world for his straightforward and calm approach in handling the Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia.

CGTN said that a few months ago hardly anybody knew of Dr Noor Hisham, 56, and the other two but they have now become the most “trustable” source of information and facts for the pandemic in their own countries.

"Every time I see Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, I feel reassured. The man has been a tower of strength for many Malaysians," CGTN quoted a local portal journalist as saying, adding that Dr Noor Hisham is also a "trusted face" and "a bulwark against confusion”.

According to CGTN, Fauci, 79, is the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAD) while Bloomfield, 54, is the director-general of health in New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba congratulated Dr Noor Hisham for earning the recognition.

Dr Adham, in his latest Facebook posting, said: “A great appreciation and honour for the country’s medical sector when our Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah is recognised by China Global Television Network as among the world’s best three doctors in handling the Covid-19 situation.” — Bernama

  3. Another true hero, Guanee soldiering on in January and February during the coup de etat.

Now we know why Guanee is so quiet nowadays even as the PN "government" is a disaster, for example Wee KHAT Siong still dumb and mute about the ban on beer production, but KT still not mocking him but mocking Guanee's father instead ha ha ha....

I’LL BE THERE – GUAN ENG TO ATTEND PARLIAMENT – DESPITE JUST BEING DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL AFTER SHOULDER SURGERY
    April 15, 2020

Former finance minister Lim Guan Eng was today discharged from a private hospital in Penang after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder.

Speaking to Malaysiakini, Lim said he went for the surgery at Island Hospital due to a shoulder dislocation which happened in January.

Lim, who was then in office, was unable to go on leave to tend to his shoulder injury.

“At the time, we had a lot of work to do. For example, the issue of (18 percent reduction in) toll rates and e-wallet cash awards,” said Lim, who was in a cheerful spirit.

“We were also busy formulating the stimulus package to fight Covid-19,” Lim, who is DAP secretary-general, told Malaysiakini.

“Since I did not go on leave to tend to my shoulder, the condition deteriorated. I am feeling alright, though the surgery had been very painful, I hope to recover soon.”

Lim, however, said he is hopeful that he would be able to make it to Parliament when it convenes on May 18.

The stimulus package to combat Covid-19 was presented by then-interim prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad after the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government.

Perikatan Nasional, led by current Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, had replaced the Pakatan Harapan government which was only in office for 22 months.

In a Facebook post earlier, Lim said he was just discharged from the hospital after spending two nights following a surgery on his left shoulder due to an injury sustained by a fall he had previously.

“Thanks to my loved ones who looked after me and to well-wishers. Please continue to stay at home. We can win this together,” he added.

  5. Towering Heroes Get No Credit.

Most Respected and Trusted former FM Guanee and former AG Tommy Thomas who worked so hard to get the stolen 1MDB money back.

Muhyiddin and FM Tengku Zafrul had no shame but instead patted themselves on the back, as if they did all the work. No mention or thanks to their predecessors.

So what "negotiations" did they do to get the money back?

PM: Another RM1.3bil in 1MDB funds returned to Malaysia, RM2.38bil received from US govt to date

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has received another US$300mil (RM1.3bil) of 1MDB funds from the United States government, which makes it a total of US$620mil (RM2.38bil) returned to date.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this represents funds recovered from asset seizures related to 1MDB under the US Department of Justice's (DoJ) Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative.

"The government is pleased to share that so far, inclusive of this most recent tranche of US$300mil, a total of US$620mil (RM2.38bil) of 1MDB monies, in the form of sales of proceeds or assets, have been returned," said the Prime Minister in a statement on Wednesday (April 15).

"I would also like to commend the Finance Minister and the Attorney General for their role in the negotiation process.

"1MDB asset recovery efforts are ongoing, and the government will continue to work with the Unites States, the DoJ and other governments to recover and repatriate more 1MDB monies in the future," he said.

Pakatan govt did most of the work in US$300 million 1MDB funds retrieval, says Ambiga
    15 Apr 2020

PRIME Minister Muhyiddin Yassin should have credited the efforts made by the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) government for the return of US$300 million (RM1.3 billion) of funds related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), said Ambiga Sreenevasan.

    1. Maybe Muhyiddin should just keep the money in trust only in case the Malaysian court find Ah Jibgor innocent of the 1MDB case, which is the most likely result. Then all the money should be "return" to Ah Jibgor ler! And then KTemoc will declare, I told you so, justice will prevail. Wakakaka......
