GE15 to be called next year - Umno No 2 predicts
The 15th general election will be called by next year, according to Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan.
"Don't worry, this is a half-term government, not a one-term government. It will not last.
"I am confident Pakatan Harapan won't last long. I expect the election would be called between May to December next year," he said when officiating the Sepang Umno division meeting this evening.
Mohamad attributed this to the political situation in Harapan as well as what he claimed will be Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's refusal to hand over power to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
While not naming them, he referred to Mahathir as "atok" (grandfather) and Anwar as "abang" (brother).
"In the current situation and knowing atok, he will not hand over to our abang. He will not do it. I am confident and believe he won't hand over."
Mohamad said he believes Mahathir will call for a snap election once the situation becomes unsettled.
"When he does not get it (hand over), our abang will go to the streets again. He'll be at Padang Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur every week," he said.

I dare say Mohd Hasan's prediction has quite a high probability of becoming true.
Mahathir will call for the predicted snap election, not because the Pakatan coalition becomes too 'unsettled', but ONCE he has the necessary 'numbers' though I'm not sure whether that will include the DAP contingent - personally I doubt it.
For sure, he can depend on the PKR Dwarfs, Amanah, Peh Mor's GPS, some Sabahans and who knows, even some UMNO and PAS - rallying them to his Muslim Unity banner. PAS is known to favour him over Anwar Ibrahim and Annuar Musa (UMNO) also said he favours Mahathir over Anwar.
His major drawback is his age where would-be allies would think twice before backing him over Anwar. Azmin Ali could have been a more acceptable PKR alternative but alas, the gay sexual allegations against him may yet prove to be a millstone to his political future.

With the 'stone' of the snap election, Mahathir will kill two birds, namely, (a) Anwar politically (removing a hated thorn in his side), and (b) re-asserts the dominance of his Pribumi Party to continue his 'old' policies, eg. UMNO III, his dynastic aspirations and to indulge his proclivities such as Car No 3 etc without constant meowing from his allies.
I suspect he'll call the snap election WITHOUT consulting any of his Pakatan allies (other than those guaranteed of siding with him and Pribumi).
I wonder what can the DAP and Anwar & his Pandan Cats do?
UMNO-PAS better be quick about the seat negotiations then. Please leave all the urban seats to MCA. This is to ensure DAP will sapu all again.

only an idiot would bank on uncertainty with numbers and I doubt if maddy is an idiot, even if he has the plot in place as you so brilliantly 'suggested' there is no guarantee he'll be victorious in a snap election, only an amateur observer or a dreamer will not see this as an obvious attempt to create mistrust in pH

ReplyDeleteMany Malaysians (whether urban or rural) including those who are racists or religious bigots, know already that there are just too many Mat Jenins among the leaders in the opposition parties who's only salvation is a big "Hope" and illusions of another GE to win and save themselves and their parties from obliteration, most of all parties like UMNO,PAS, BN and GPS. The only ones listening to them must surely be their own Zombie supporters with blind faith in them like Prophets of Salvation while their own houses are burning when more of their own zombiac members and supporters start thinking seriously about their own party survival instead of their Kleptocratic and corrupted leaders.
Isn't there any better leaders in all the opposition parties who can change the destiny of their parties to even have a chance of a comeback in the next GE or future GEs instead of hanging on to their Kleptocratic and corrupted leaders coat tails and expecting them to deliver the hopes and aspirations of their own parties to be the Govt. of a Nation once more?
Whatever the reasons given based on the probabilities of someone trying to read TDM's mind and strategies, politiking among PH component parties, disunity or even breakup of the coalition parties, do you honestly believe most Malaysian voters who are just ordinary folks and non-party members, when at the polling booth will even think of giving such parties their votes so that their Kleptocratic and corrupted leaders can come back to rule over them as leaders of a Nation.
Where is the dignity/maruah of a Nation and Malaysians in the world when such tainted famous Kleptocratic leaders are reelected again?
Politicians may have no qualms about ditching morality, dignity, corruption, good governance, civility etc in their quest for power but not for the ordinary Malaysian voter who have woken up after GE 14.
In fact, the greater worry would be, if another GE is called currently or next year or the following year may see a total whitewash or dilution further of the seats held instead by the current opposition parties and possibly even losing/dilution of power in the opposition held States of Perlis, Kelantan, Trengganu, Pahang and Sarawak.
I'm sure TDM would like/want to grant the opposition their hopes of a GE and quicken the pace of reforms and build his own dynasty but was held back due to numbers he doesn't have now.
