Zaidi Ahmad - Mach 2.0 in politics

However I might have been unkind to Major (rtd) Zaidi Ahmad for (a) violating Armed Forces Council Instructions (AFCI) in making unauthorised press statements and sneered at him for (b) being a political rolling stone in joining then leaving PAS, joining then leaving Amanah and joining DAP, I must admit he has now done well in defending the DAP-led State government against a woman who railed against Lim Guan Eng's Administration.

The woman featured in an apparently anti-DAP video, titled "Penang, would you hear my story?" ranted a litany of complaints against the Pakatan State government, specifically about cost of living. That video went viral since last Thursday.

Many believe the YouTube video was allegedly a BN propaganda campaign but also an utter flop.

Zaidi told the woman to talk to him about her grievances with the State government, saying (published in Malaysiakini) Let's go for char koay teow, wakakaka. That's a 'beautiful' friendly/mollifying line used previously by Eli Wong (PKR), wakakaka again.

Additionally, Zaidi also provided a point-by-point refutation of the woman's televised complaints, showing what a lot of rubbish those were.

Well done Zaidi, you have redeemed yourself somewhat. You might have been a naughty air force officer in making unauthorised press statements but now, you have proven yourself to be an excellent information officer to CM Lim Guan Eng.
