Azmin Ali self-evacuating from Gombak?

Star Online - Azmin may contest in 'safer' seat instead of Gombak during GE14 (extracts):

KLANG: PKR is considering moving Azmin Ali out of his Gombak Parliamentary constituency, which is a PAS stronghold, to a safer seat for the 14th General Election. [...]

"Gombak is a PAS stronghold and the party's supporters played a big role in securing Azmin's victory in the constituency in the last two general elections,'' said a PKR source.

Azmin beat Umno's Said Anuar Said Ahmad with a 6,867 majority in the 12th General Election and Umno's Rahman Ismail with a 4,734 majority in the 13th General Election in 2013. [...]

"Initially, there were suggestions that he move to Petaling Jaya Selatan and the incumbent there, Hee Loy Sian, shifts to the Kajang state seat,'' said the source.

Kajang is currently being held by PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The source added that Petaling Jaya was a safe seat for PKR as Hee won with a 19,216 majority in the 2013 polls.

Recall what I said a week ago in my post DAP Commando Squad? PKR Evacuation Squad?.

In FMT's Is Pakatan too afraid of taking chances?, author Sheith Khidhir Bin Abu Bakar Pakatan Harapan feels Pakatan must pull out all stops if it ever intends to win Putrajaya. [...]

Sheith reckons what may hamper the acquisition of new/additional seats for a clear majority in Federal Parliament is Pakatan being too cautious or too afraid to take risks, yes risk, but necessary risks, using its popular powerful personalities to capture new seats instead of them just sitting cosily in their respective blue ribbon seats.

Thus he recommends pulling out consistent victors from their strongholds (which they have been winning in past elections) and placing them in contests that other Pakatan candidates might not win.

Having explained that the DAP has long engaged in commando raids into BN constituencies like Gelang Patah, etc, before Sheith even mentioned such tactics,  I asked in that post:

What do you guys think of Sheith's proposal for Pakatan (not just DAP) to have a commando spearhead force?

Well, for a start, PKR will be doing the REVERSE (cabut unsafe seats, wakakaka) when it has evaluated where:

(a) Azmin Ali may stand safely because Gombak is no longer 'safe' for him (maybe Batu since Tian Chua may well be disqualified),

(b) Nurul Izzah likewise with her current Lembah Pantai (perhaps Pandan as Rafizi is disqualified), and

(c) Wan Azizah with her now-less-than-safe Permatang Pauh.

Well, looks like Azmin may well be the first among the PKR leaders to scurry off to safer grounds. Mind, there may soon be a mitigating factor in his favour which may not require him to cabut from Gombak.

PKR sources claimed that about 5 to 6 PAS blokes may froggie-leap over to Amanah, where one of them is a PAS ADUN whose constituency falls within the Gombak parliamentary constituency. Thus it's likely his supporters may continue voting for Azmin.

The three state constituencies under Gombak are:

Batu Caves - held by Amirudin Shari (PKR),
Hulu Kelang - held by Saari Sungib (Amanah), and
Gombak Setia - held by Hasbullah Mohd Ridzwan (PAS).

Does this mean Ustaz Hasbullah Mohd Ridzwan is joining Amanah? Has he been kowtim-rised, wakakaka?

In 2013 Ustaz obtained almost 21,000 votes or 52.11% of Gombak Setia's turnout. But note that was recorded as a minus 3.27% drop from the 2008 GE. His BN competition, Said Anuar Said Ahmad, was about 1,681 votes behind him.

While the other two state constituencies, namely, Batu Caves and Hulu Kelang, are currently held by PKR and Amanah respectively, can he still rely on their voters and most importantly, Ustaz Hasbullah Mohd Ridzwan's supporters in Gombak Setia to vote for him in Gombak, that is, assuming Ustaz move over to Amanah?

Mind, Amanah Selangor hasn't been bloody pleased with Azmin Ali for snubbing them while the MB was until recently slutting with PAS, wakakaka.

Ustaz Hasbullah Mohd Ridzwan

    3. I doubt it. If Azmin stands on 'Rocket' instead of 'Eye of Sauron', then he will still win it handsomely.

  2. Azmin Ali is no cabinet minister material. Not even for a low level federal minister assistant's post like KJ's sports ministry.Real leaders do not skunked at the face of tough opponents or even threats at the polls.A real leader or general prefers to go down in battle than skulk for the hills with tail between the legs.Lest to be a PM potential? The dwarf have finally showed it's treu colors.Wakakaka.

    1. But seems like almost all Pakatan top leaders are doing musical chairs now...even top dog PM-in-waiting. So who left staying firm in their seat and has PM potential?
