Sivarasa allegedly marred the sanctity of An Nur Mosque in Kampung Melayu Subang, near here, when he gave a political speech in the mosque, last Wednesday.The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) elected representative, however, denied giving a talk at the mosque, but said he was there to give a short speech on the state government’s commitment to continue assisting mosques and surau in the state.

Mohamed Azmin, who is also PKR vice-president, said Sivarasa had met him to explain the situation but he (Azmin) declined to elaborate on what was discussed.

Mohamed Azmin also clarified that Sivarasa was not representing him as the event was organised by the Subang MP’s office.

Poor Sivarasa, the perpetual "missing man" in the Altantuyaa case. He's now abandoned by Azmin Ali who must be tap dancing through the tulips of the 'sacred cow'.

Cow

Well, I did say I would be blogging on, for a start, two animals. I have already blogged on the elephant, wakakaka, so that leaves the story of the cow to be narrated.

The cow (or its male, the bull) has been iconic, divine or/and sacred for aeons, stretching back to ancient (pre-Arab) Egypt and the Hellenic World.

In Egypt it was worshipped as Hathor, a very powerful and important goddess who personified the principles of joy, feminine love, and motherhood, and as 'Mistress of the West' who welcomed the 'dead' into the next life.

In ancient Greece there was Io, and over in ancient Crete the bull was worshipped as a divine creature. I'm sure you have heard of the Minotaur.

To cut short the 'bull', wakakaka, the cow is highly revered in India as the most indispensable agro-socio-economic creature. For thousands of years, the cow provided diary products such as milk, cheese, yogurt for food and cow-dung for fuel (vital in northern India when in winter), thus it would be most moronic, idiotic and even blasphemous to kill such an invaluable live-giving animal.

Thus in India the cow is considered as a Mother figure who looks after her 'children, a gau mata.

Trust Dr Asri to not understand that and thus insult the Indians. Yes, there have been a couple of Malay Muslim so-called 'intellectuals' like Dr Asri and Dr Bakri Musa (the surgeon who migrated to USA) who have written effusively but showed lazy scholarship in their writings, only comparing Malay and Muslim society with Western ones but grossly failing to learn and understand the socio-religio-cultural foundations of the Indian and Chinese Malaysians.

From the Indian socio-economic veneration ('hormat') of the Mother personality of gau mata, we get the English term 'sacred cow'.

Thus in the English language, 'sacred cow' is an idea, custom, or institution held to be above criticism, or in more popular usage, someone or something that has been accepted or respected for a long time and that people are afraid or unwilling to criticize or question, and that is often unreasonably immune from criticism or opposition.

Let me provide a couple of modern examples:

a. To Malays, the NEP is a sacred cow.

b. To Chinese, vernacular education is a sacred cow.

It's not something you can touch with impunity because the adverse fallout will be drastic.

Another example would be the status of HRH. In Malaysia (not Indonesia) they are definitely 'sacred cows' in the eyes of many Malays.

Thus Azmin Ali has cleverly, cunningly and craftily somehow coopted HRH Selangor into approving the continuing tenure of the 3 PAS exco members.

Cerita habis, because now no one, not even DAP, dares question those dedak-makan-ing PAS continuing to gulp unashamedly from the gravy trough of Selangor. The edict of a sacred cow is immune from mortal criticisms.

Catch people for not fasting?

KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 — Minister Khairy Jamaluddin urged religious departments today to help the poor instead of nabbing Muslims who skip fasting during Ramadan, a punishable offence under Shariah law.

“Instead of religious depts spending money on enforcement ppl looking for people ponteng puasa, use them to help ‘asnaf’ and to do good,” the youth and sports minister tweeted.

The word “asnaf” refers to those who are eligible to receive zakat collections, including the poor.

“In terms of awlawiyat (priority),it is more important we help the needy than enforce personal religious obligations. There is no compulsion,” he added.

Khairy, however, admitted that it was “difficult,” when a Twitter user suggested that he put his proposal in a manifesto and to expand it to the entire concept of moral policing.

“This is difficult. I will be honest with you. Years of bureaucratisation of religion has created a behemoth. Almost sacrosanct,” Khairy replied @zurairi.

The MM Online headlines is a bit incomplete. It should have read (in kaytee's words, wakakaka):

Instead of religious depts spending money on catching people ponteng puasa, it should use those very expenses to help ‘asnaf’ (poor and those who deserve to receive zakat) and to do good.

But our religious ulama and their staff love to persecute, punish and prohibit people, even when they are innocent like Nik Raina and a married couple who was recently caught for so-called khalwat, a mistake that JAWI has steadfastly refused to apologise for its flabbergasting error - how to apologise when JAWI and sister organisations deem themselves above mortal reproach?

So why should they waste money helping the needy when they so enjoy nabbing people and humiliating, embarrassing and bullying them? More fun what!

Nonetheless I'm glad a Muslim has finally spoken out against so-called 'moral police' (paid by non-MUslim tax money) bullying and punishing people into fasting, which essentially is a covenant of faith between a man and his God - Islam is NOT the only religion that practises fasting but all other religions do NOT enforce fasting.

And KJ is correct that Years of bureaucratisation of religion has created a behemoth, meaning the JAN (jabatan agama negeri-negeri) have grown into uncontrollable monsters.

Why Malaysians are fixated on race & religion

FMT - Voters fixated on race, religion issues, says Ideas (extracts):

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian voters do not care about policies, however good, presented by opposition candidates because they are fixated on issues of race and religion, said the Institute of Democracy and Economic Affairs (Ideas).

“People are stuck on these issues and will not care if candidates have a better grasp of more important issues,” said Wan Saiful Wan Jan, the think tank’s CEO, to FMT.

Of course they would be, considering much effort on racist ketuanan indoctrination has been expended by the Biro Tatanegara, the brainchild of Mahathir.

Paid by taxpayers' money, including those of non-Malays.

Lecturers told us the Malays were forced to depend on the Chinese for support after 1998 because some Malays had betrayed their own race," in reference to Malays voting against the Barisan Nasional in 1999 general election.

Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, another alumnus and assemblyman for Seri Setia in the State Legislative Assembly of Selangor, claimed that the BTN camp he attended was "racial and political in nature," with trainers telling attendees that Malays require affirmative action and criticising the opposition Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) as "deviationist". 

Amirudin Shari, assemblyman for Batu Caves, claimed that "participants are indoctrinated with propaganda about 'Ketuanan Melayu' and external threats".

Another alumnus claims he was taught that the Chinese were "the Jews of Asia," and part of a conspiracy to topple the government.

Another alumnus alleged she was "told that the Malays were the most supreme race in the world, we were God's chosen few, that the others were insignificant. We were warned about certain elements in our society and abroad, determined to undermine Malay excellence."

Yes, indeed, all thanks to Mahathir Mohamad.

Slap-a-thon?

A week ago I penned Slapping others good for career? in which I wrote (extracts):

In Singapore you slapped someone to PROTECT the respect for former (the late) PM Lee Kuan Yew, you go to jail for 3 weeks.

In Malaysia you slapped someone to PROTECT the respect for PM Najib Razak, you get away scot-free(?) and revive your fading acting career, with an engagement in the Land of the Forbidden Tree

Such must be the complexity involved in analysing the anatomy of a slap that the police have been taking weeks on ends to come to a finding on Sulaiman Yassin (Mat Over) slapping David Teo in front of the PM.

But 'ere the police arrived at their arduous journey of a conclusion for above, another slapping (good also for career?) has taken place in Penang. This time there is complete silence from the police.

At Masjid Jamek Simpang Enam, a Muslim house of prayer for more than a hundred years right in the heart of the Penang Chinese Heartland (just like Masjid Al-Jamiul Azzakirin at the corner of Prangin Road, renamed as Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong and a lane named in my time as Rope Walk and now called Jalan Pintal Tali), the recent slapping took place.

The poor victim was someone I quite disrespect, namely former air force major Zaidi Ahmad, but nonetheless I feel for him as he became a victim of opportunistic so-called Muslims who wanted brownie points from their masters, and had hoped to achieve same by slapping Zaidi when he asked Jalinin Muslimin Pulau Pinang chairman Mohamed Hafiz Mohamed Nordin a question.

Arseh*le, that's Mohamed Hafiz Mohamed Nordin, wakakaka, couldn't answer the question so he solved his fabrications by slapping Zaidi instead.

All the above was done on the eve of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic year - yalah, menjelang bulan yang tersuci. 

Arseh*le claimed (fabricated) that the DAP government was interfering with fatwas in Penang but when Zaidi went there to ask which fatwa was interfered with, Arseh*le could not answer for the simple reason no fatwa was interfered with by the state government.

So to solve his bullshitting embarrassment he slapped Zaidi.

As I said, Violence seems to be, for some Malays, a solution.

Apart from slapping poor Zaidi, Arseh*le berated Lim GE and non-Muslims for various other stuff which seemed to militate against the mental-spiritual preparation of a Muslim for Ramadan. 

Would that prove he is indeed an Arseh*le and NOT a pious Muslim? Wakakaka.

Maha-Hypocrite

MM Online - Critic reminds Dr M of previous bid to recruit Geely for Proton rescue (extracts):

KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 — Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad travelled to China in 2014 to try and convince Chinese carmaker Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely) to partner with Proton.

The former prime minister, who this week lamented the loss of his “child” following the sale of a minority stake in Proton to Geely, was reminded of this attempt on Twitter today.

In the tweet addressed at his @chedetofficial account, a user linked an article from the Nikkei Asian Review that reported of Dr Mahahir’s bid together with Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary, who owns the DRB-Hicom group that bought Proton Holdings in 2012, to form a partnership with Geely.

Aiyoyo, such is his conceit and selfishness that he only wants Proton to be successful if he himself runs it.

In other words, with regards to his pet projects like Proton, if anyone were to suck the whatever of Chinese (from China, not Malaysia) it has to be him and him alone, wakakaka.

In fact, for all his immense dislike, disdain and disregard for Chinese Malaysians since Tunku's days (when he told Alor Setar Chinese he didn't need their votes and which they gave to Yusof Rawa of PAS, wakakaka), he had to swallow his pride in 1999 (post Anwar's expulsion from UMNO and jailing) and suck hard at the Chinese whatever.

Juo-Yu Lin writing for The Brookings Institution in a paper titled 'A Structural Analysis of the 1999 Malaysian General Election' said:

Having sacked Anwar and enduring UMNO's loss of 30% of the Muslim votes in the General Election in November 1999, UMNO's Chairman Mahathir was still capable of leading the country to overcome the financial crisis and its political instability.

But he employed ... the strategies ... of inviting Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji to visit Malaysia, meeting the demands of the Chinese electorate ... He wrote down a big Chinese character ‘’Ren’’ (endurance) during the meeting with Malaysian university students. This move greatly touched both Malayan and Chinese students.

Such were the extent to which he bent down to suck.

Now, wasn't his invitation to Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji to visit Malaysia, and pretending to show interest in Chinese calligraphy just what he has recently criticised Najib for?

Just recently I wrote Mahathir & 'His' Chinese, quoting a Malaysiakini's article, Dr M: Malays should fear 'pro-China PM' more than DAP in which he said (extracts):

The Malays and Umno have more reasons to fear Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's reliance on China than the DAP, according to Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Mahathir just didn't/doesn't have any moral qualm or scruple to accuse Najib of whatever when he himself did exactly just what just that.

To top all that, he has even embraced Najib's BR1M, which he had earlier condemned, wakakaka. What a shameless hussy.

Pokoknya, dia mahu undi2 Cina sahaja. Selepas pilihanraya, Cina ni akan disepak balik ke status Cinakui, wakakaka.

But yes, the Chinese Malaysians in 1999 saved his bloody arse. And for what?

The pro Pakatan Chinese are stupid to now support this man. It's one thing to support DAP but it's entirely another to support a man who has always reviled them (until he needed/needs their support).

Just the name of his party Pribumi is already an absolute racist offence to non-Malays, and an omen of his real intentions.

Additionally, these Chinese must be either too young to remember Mahathir's 22-year old draconian profligate rule and his regular disdain of Chinese Malaysians, or they have joined the ranks of Malaysian morons.

The deal between Proton parent DRB-Hicom and Geely was announced yesterday, with Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani saying that Proton would remain a national car because Proton would still have a majority hold of 50.1 per cent.

International newswire Reuters reported that Geely was expected to offer Proton some vehicle technologies in order to grow its sales overseas and to recover some of the global presence Proton had lost in recent years.

Proton reportedly dominated the domestic market by 74 per cent in 1993 at its peak, but saw its market share dwindle to around 15 per cent currently due to low-quality cars, poor after-sales service and tough competition from foreign automakers.

Dr Mahathir said he was certain that Proton would now be sold all over the world.

“It will be like Singapore. Malaysians are proud of this great city-state. If it had not been sold it would be, perhaps, as well developed as Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis. Then we cannot be proud of Singapore,” he said.

“Now we can be proud of Proton. With money and superior technology it will compete with Rolls Royce and Bentley. But I cannot be proud of its success. I cannot be proud of the success of something that does not belong to me or my country. Maybe other Malaysians will, but not me,” added the 91-year-old.

Slow Mo Police?

It's more than 10 days since a man on stage at the TN50 forum went violent in front of the Malaysian PM. He preposterously claimed he did it to protect respect for the PM, and asserted he did not regret slapping someone else.

The police claimed they launched a self report and has been investigating into the act of assault.

What happened to the investigation? 'Twas just a case of slapping, all caught on camera. What further evidence do the police need?

Will the police take until 2019 to give us its findings and recommendations?

The elephant

I want to talk about animals, starting off specifically with the elephant and the cow. For this post I'll write on the elephant.

In fact I am referring to the white elephant. The term 'white elephant' came from Thailand and Burma (Myanmar). Tradition or cultural belief prohibited the working of white elephants which are considered scared.

Then, only kings could maintain white elephants but might gift such sacred animals to courtiers. When that was done, say, to a courtier, he could either consider that as a blessing or a curse, or both, the former because it was a rare royal gift and a tremendous honour, the latter because the animal was very expensive to maintain but due to its sacredness and royal source could not be worked (used fro labour).

Wikipedia informs us that in modern British English, the term 'white elephant' often refers to a publicly funded project that is extremely expensive yet fails to deliver on its function and/or becomes very expensive to maintain.

In Malaysia we have a number of 'white elephants', owned by the former Emperor of Malaysia. Today we manage to get rid of one of them, namely, the Proton car, instead of continuing to pour in billions as we did for years.

The Proton was one of the grandiose wet dreams of one dictator who selfishly protected the car at tremendous cost, to the extent the Proton car was built and sold in a protective environment which made its market viability non-competitive.

And it wasn't as if it was designed and built by Malaysians from scratch, being a clone of a Japanese car. Plagued by poor engineering, it suffered from faults yet was protected better than the marginalised Indian Malaysians.

'Nuff said, and we hope the new foreign partner to ownership of Proton will inject new technology and production quality to this 'white elephant'.

The only adverse point the new foreign partner to the Malaysian Proton has is its approval by the Najib Administration. Had it been Volvo or Mercedes or BMW which was approved by Najib, it would have suffered derogatory remarks as well.

Silence of PAS

Has PAS condemn the murderous bomb attacks in both Manchester and Jakarta?

Or are they still lamenting the demises of Dr Azahari Husin and Noordin Top some years back (2005 and 2009 respectively)?

Or are they on the phone to Aceh for advice on UUD355?

Constitutional Mengele?

Wikipedia says: Coma is a state of unconsciousness in which a person cannot be awakened; fails to respond normally to painful stimuli, light, or sound; lacks a normal wake-sleep cycle; and does not initiate voluntary actions.

A person in a state of coma is described as being comatose.

Prompt medical attention by doctors is necessary help comatose patient(s) to recover.

But in Malaysia, a doctor has been alleged to have put Malaysia's Constitution, which protects people and their rights, into a coma. The doctor also happens to be a former PM of Malaysia, specifically its fourth.

KUALA LUMPUR: Law professor Azmi Sharom says the Federal Constitution is in a coma, with its “health” having gone downhill since Malaysia’s fourth prime minister took over the country’s reins.

He said this at the launch of a book on Malaysia’s first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad was the country’s fourth prime minister. He was blamed for “destroying” the judiciary, curbing the power of the monarchy and strengthening the executive branch by placing the Election Commission and other agencies under the direct purview of the Prime Minister’s Department.

However, after leaving Umno for the third time and forming new party PPBM, Mahathir has been touted as a possible candidate for prime minister to lead the opposition in its efforts to oust Barisan Nasional in the next general election (GE14). This is despite the PPBM chairman ruling out any chance of returning as PM.

“I would describe the health of the Federal Constitution as being in a coma, and it was put there by those who came after Tunku. It especially went downhill after the fourth prime minister (took over the reins),” Azmi said at the book launch held in Bangsar Village II here today.

“Tunku was a lawyer. He understood the value of law, the rule of law and the protection given to the people under the Federal Constitution. This lack of understanding is plaguing the country now.

“When you give it to a doctor, everything goes haywire.”

And you want to vote for him?

KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 ― PAS Youth asked today whether its former ally DAP supports the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) movement, pointing to one of its members’ involvement in a now-cancelled public awareness campaign. [...]

The Campaign for Equality and Human Rights Initiative, also known as Pelangi Campaign, was one of the supporters of the “Courage in the Face of Adversity” LGBT awareness event that was scheduled for next month before it was suddenly cancelled by Taylor’s University.

PAS has nothing better to do than to constantly burrow its nose deep into matters of sex or to pry into Selena Gomez's wardrobe (or lack of), etc.

Political icon-ization of Mat Over

SHAH ALAM, May 24 — The presence of two controversial figures from the film industry became a subject of hot gossip on social media during the tabling of the National Transformation Programme Annual Report 2016 here tonight and they also caught the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Najib, who had barely gone seven minutes into his presentation, named Datuk David Teo and Mat Over whose real name is Sulaiman Yasin as examples to emphasise the spirit of unity among the people in Malaysia.

While smiling at Teo and Mat Over who were seated in the front row at Dewan Agong Tuanku Canselor (DATC), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), the Prime Minister said: “I can see Mat Over is present and Mejar David Teo is also present ...both seated together...this is good.

This may be good for Najib but not so for civilised society. I sense a growing trepidation in myself and many others that the serial slapper (and assaulter) of people may get away with his syiok-suka-sendiri crime. 

That will be the greatest injustice if a man who assaulted others because he felt like it becomes an icon, no doubt a political icon.

Sulaiman Yassin or his stage name Mat Over must face due punishments for his act of violence against a member of the public, to wit, David Teo, regardless of whether Teo has forgiven him.

Just remember, this assaulter stated he did/does not regret slapping David Teo, in other words, showing no repentance for his barbaric behaviour in a modern society.

Don't let him get away with his vile act.
