Kangaroo Court No 1?

Last Thursday a man attacked Saddam at a hearing. As I had blogged, feisty Saddam retaliated. His attorney Khalil Dulaimi told Reuters Television that Saddam’s legal team would be boycotting proceedings until the assailant and the court apologised.

The assailant has been named as Tahseen, a reserve investigative judge. Looks like Saddam is in for the Mother of all trials, when even a reserve judge could whack him.

The US military, which was guarding Saddam, denied such an attack. But I don’t suppose anyone other than die-hard supporters of the US believes a single word of their denial. After all the US military had denied a lot of stuff that turned out to be true, like Abu Ghraib, Guanatanamo, Bagram.

Dulaimi said what his client, Saddam had stated, that the tribunal had no legitimacy because it was created by the Americans. Ouch!
