KAJANG, Jan 5 — Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has said that the investigation on the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl by a police inspector in Kedah should be allowed to undergo its “due process”.
At a press conference today, Saifuddin said that he was briefed on the matter by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani yesterday.
“I believe there is a strong basis for the police to start an investigation,” he said at the National Anti-Drugs Agency headquarters today.

Ask any police officer anywhere in the world.
ReplyDeleteIt is matter of great personal reluctance and often considerable hostility from fellow officers to investigate another police officer for a criminal allegation.
And often, any investigator brave or principled enough to pursue such an investigation to prosecution will likely have destroyed his own career.
All in all, it is practically a useless exercise for police to investigate police.
