Check your facts, Hannah tells Wan Fayhsal on Jay Chou concert

Hannah Yeoh admonished Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for making a ‘political statement’ on the Jay Chou concert issue without knowing the facts.

PETALING JAYA: Youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh has ticked off Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for suggesting that she use her authority to change the venue of a concert by a Taiwanese pop star.

She called for the Bersatu Youth chief to check his facts.

Yeoh was responding to a Facebook post by the former deputy youth and sports minister who said she should use her power as a minister to move the concert by Jay Chou, which is scheduled for Jan 15, from the Bukit Jalil National Stadium to the Axiata Arena nearby.

But Yeoh said that the powers of a minister should not be abused for such a purpose.

She also pointed out that some 45,000 tickets for the concert had been sold, while the Axiata Arena can only accommodate 13,000 people.

The Bukit Jalil National Stadium has a capacity of more than 84,000.

“One should check their facts properly before coming up with political statements,” Yeoh tweeted.

Wan Fayhsal’s comments were in response to Yeoh revealing that 21,000 seats at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium that had to be left vacant due to the concert stage.

She said this was the reason for the reduced number of tickets available for the first leg of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Cup semifinal between Malaysia and Thailand on Jan 7.

Many Harimau Malaya fans had voiced their displeasure on social media over the issue.

The national team defeated Singapore at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Tuesday to qualify for the semifinal. The match was played in front of a full stadium.

Menteri-Kerajaan-Beta (a.k.a Wan Fayhsal) has a notority for accruing nonsensical rubbish and factoids. Hardly surprising he was talking kok, and caught with his panties down by Hannah.

  1. Respect commercial contracts. Or get out of the business.

  2. The a***-hole was actually playing the race card.

Imagine if this a***-hole was still in office, he would have forceably moved the concert to another venue or forced the concert to be postponed to a different date; notwithstanding any contracts that were signed.
