PETALING JAYA: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, has called for calm ahead of a special meeting with other Malay rulers at Istana Negara tomorrow.

In a statement, Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the King called for patience until the next government is formed.

Earlier today, The Star reported that Sultan Abdullah will seek the other sultans’ opinions on the stalemate in forming the federal government after Saturday’s election ended in a hung Parliament.

“Our country’s future is valuable and we have to plan it carefully,” said the statement.

Istana Negara confirmed that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong granted separate audiences with representatives from Barisan Nasional and Gabungan Parti Sarawak today, this after meeting the chiefs of Perikatan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan yesterday upon determining that no single MP had the simple majority to form the government.

Previously, GPS said it was open to forming the government with PN, BN and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS). However, the Sarawak coalition said yesterday it would let the King decide what was best for the people.

PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin has also said the King had asked PN and PH to work together in forming a unity government, but PN turned this down as the coalition was firm on not working with PH.

According to Malaysiakini, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong told BN leaders today that the coalition must be part of a unity government.

BN secretary-general Zambry Abd Kadir yesterday said that while no BN MP had backed Muhyiddin for the prime minister’s post, the coalition is open to discussions with any party to ensure that a government can be formed for the sake of the country.

kt comments: If BN sec-gen said no BN MP had backed Muhyiddin for the PM’s post, and Tuanku wants BN to eb part of the 'Unity' government, that means BN has to work with PH.

With GPS+GRS (latter now at odds with Moox2) it will result in Anwar leading a pack of PH-MUDA 82+BN 30+GPS 23+GRS 6+Warisan 3+Larry Sng 1 = 145 MPs, making him PM of a very stable government.

But if so, according to logic and maths, though we know politics is seldom logical nor sensible, WTF is PN gathering at St Regis Hotel with Turtle Egg and Tok Mat seen to be attending???

Moox2 is expected to be there though we wonder whether Pak Lebai bin Mat Kilau will be?? Whatever, the Communists and Christian and Jews better keep out of their ways!
