I was sidelined by PKR, says ex-Rantau candidate Streram
Dr S Streram says he was invited by Parti Bangsa Malaysia president designate Zuraida Kamaruddin to join the party.
PETALING JAYA: Dr S Streram, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate who lost in the 2019 Rantau by-election, said he decided to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) because he was sidelined by his party, PKR.
He also said his loyalty to the party, which he joined in 2008, was never appreciated by Negeri Sembilan PKR chief Aminuddin Harun, who is also the menteri besar.
“I am just disappointed with PKR. The more dedicated I was towards the party, the more I was sidelined.
“The Negeri Sembilan menteri besar said there was no need for me to serve the people, so I said it’s alright, I’ll join another party who wants me,” he told FMT.
Streram also claimed that many more PKR branch and divisional leaders in the state had been sidelined by Aminuddin, creating animosity among many members towards the party.
It had been rumoured that the former deputy Rembau PKR chief was attempting to resurrect his political career through PBM after a picture surfaced of him attending a Negeri Sembilan chapter meeting of the new party earlier this month.
Streram, who is currently the Seremban PBM chief and the party’s state treasurer, said he was invited by president designate Zuraida Kamaruddin to join the party.
“I just want to serve the people and I need a political platform to do that.
“And I am okay with PBM’s ideology.”

ReplyDeleteEverybody, it seems just want to serve the rakyat when entering politics.
ReplyDeleteI believe joining an NGO would also allow for serving the rakyat. But, of course there is definitely no reward in an NGO eg a good monthly "allowance" as an MP.
However, if what he claims about the MB is true, PKR would do well to nip such big boss attitude. Again, if true, it is like the MB having his own fiefdom
