PETALING JAYA: Warisan intends to contest four parliamentary seats and at least 20 state assembly seats in Negeri Sembilan at the next general election, said a party leader.

Negeri Sembilan Warisan chief Azman Idris said the Sabah-based party’s confidence to contest in the state was driven by the fact that many voters appeared to be on the fence, offering no clear support to any one party in particular.

“Warisan will contest in Negeri Sembilan but the number of seats it contests will have to be decided by the party’s top leadership.

“We will focus on contesting in areas and seats where we believe the people need our services,” Utusan Malaysia quoted him as saying.

Azman added that his team was in the midst of identifying potential seats to contest before making recommendations to the party’s top leadership.

He said Warisan currently has almost 2,000 members in Negeri Sembilan across 25 party divisions in the state.

“Warisan has been operating in the state for more than a year now, and thankfully, it has received an encouraging response from the public,” he said. “I believe the party can go far in Negeri Sembilan.”

Sabah-based Warisan made its debut in a peninsular election at the recent Johor elections by contesting six seats but failed to win any.

  1. Warisan has Zero chance in the Peninsular to win over BN supporters. All they aim for is to siphon off disgruntled or disappointed Harapan supporters.

That is why Warisan spends most of it's time and energy criticising Harapan or promoting that they are better than Harapan.
