Kadir Jasin to Muhyiddin: UMNO never respected you as PM, even so now!

A FORMER Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) leader reminded its president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that UMNO will not entertain him further since he was no longer the premier.

“Muhyiddin must realise that if UMNO never respected him while he was the prime minister, what makes you think they will entertain him now?” A Kadir Jasin said in a Facebook post.

Since being ousted from power by several UMNO MPs, the Muhyiddin-led Perikatan Nasional has been talking about seats allocation for the 15th General Election, speculated to be held middle of 2022.

While Muhyiddin was seen trying to appease UMNO, UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stood firm that they would not be part of Perikatan and contest under the Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket.

Livid over the setback, Muhyiddin said that Bersatu would not hesitate to contest against UMNO in the next general election.

On that note, Kadir opined that if Bersatu ever decides to contest against UMNO, the former would be crushed.

He added that UMNO has little incentive to endear itself to Bersatu as the latter snatched away 16 of the former’s MPs after the last polls.

“I think Zahid has been emboldened by Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan acquittal, which made him announce that UMNO will contest all seats it won in 2018.

“The fact is, having UMNO vice president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as prime minister has already given much needed advantage to the party. The only problem now is its tainted and divided leadership team,” he noted.

The veteran newsman opined that UMNO’s fate now relies on PAS but the latter seems to be more comfortable working with Bersatu.

“Even that, I believe, depends on Muhyiddin’s ability to appease the Islamist party but I think with the Pagoh MP no longer the premier, Bersatu is becoming weaker and may split before the general election,” Kadir concluded. – Oct 4, 2021.
