Amanah leader dares Hadi to haul DAP to court for ‘opposing Islam’
Aiman Athirah Sabu challenges the PAS president to show evidence or take legal action to back his claim against DAP

PETALING JAYA: Wanita Amanah chief Aiman Athirah Sabu has challenged PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to haul DAP to court if he has proof that the party harbours anti-Malay and anti-Islam agendas.
Aiman said Hadi should not merely repeat his “cheap rhetoric in the form of accusations” that incite PAS supporters and others to fall for such “malicious propaganda”.
The Sepang MP said there were legal mechanisms available for use if a party truly commits acts that run afoul of the Federal Constitution.
“But when serious accusations remain as mere political rhetoric without proof, the people have the right to ask: is this a struggle to defend the faith and the country, or is it just a strategy to stoke fear and gain political support?” she said in a Facebook post.
Aiman said PAS did not initiate any form of legal action or investigation against DAP when the Islamic party was in the federal government, discrediting Hadi’s assertion that DAP posed a threat to Islam.
“Why is there no evidence that DAP breached the constitution? Why did PAS not use national instruments to prove such claims?”
She cautioned against weaponising Islam to sow enmity, saying that labelling a certain party as the enemy of the faith would not only sow discord among Malaysians but also tarnish Islam.
Aiman was responding to Hadi claiming that DAP was leading Pakatan Harapan in “continuing the work of colonisers to destroy Malay-Muslims”.
The Marang MP cited DAP’s push for the revival of local council elections and its “Malaysian Malaysia” vision for the country, claiming that the latter was “extreme secularism”.
This was criticised by DAP central executive committee member Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali, who said the party would have been banned by now if it truly had an agenda against Islam.
