MCA has to make a call on whether they still want to stay in BN, said former party vice-president Ti Lian Ker, who described the coalition as becoming like an “empty shell waiting to be cracked”.
In a statement, Ti reiterated MCA grassroots’ frustration over Umno’s growing rapport with DAP, which is regarded as “a slap in MCA’s face”.
According to him, Umno and DAP are displaying their confidence and arrogance that they can win the next general election with or without MCA or MIC.
“It is also a signal that DAP will replace MCA and MIC, and BN is now just an empty shell waiting to be cracked.
“This is the public posturing and position of UmDAP!
“It is now MCA’s turn to call that bluff or remain silent and lose their pride and dignity,” Ti said on Facebook.
Jeering at MCA, MIC
Drawing a comparison to a poker game, he said it is unmistakable that Umno and DAP are provoking the BN component parties with every move they make.
“Every handshake, every smile, every camera flash at Umno HQ, followed by the social media postings from DAP leaders, is like a jeer aimed at MCA and MIC with a provocative ‘It’s your call MCA….’,” Ti said.

The former senator also took a sarcastic swipe at DAP, accusing the party of wanting to “marry” Umno after envying MCA and MIC for the past 60 years.
Ti’s statement is the latest call from within BN for MCA and MIC to ditch Umno.
It was reported that two days ago, Kedah MIC had passed a resolution to cooperate with Perikatan Nasional and did not rule out the possibility of leaving BN.
However, the state chapter said it would leave the final decision to the party’s central leadership.
