‘Israel Got Hit Really Hard’: How Iran’s Ballistic Missile Arsenal Played a Central Role Deciding the Outcome of the War

Middle East , Missile and Space

In the aftermath of the ceasefire that suspended Iranian-Israeli hostilities, new details have emerged regarding the extent of the damage caused by sustained Iranian ballistic missile attacks against Israeli targets. Although the Israeli government imposed strict censorship on reporting or publishing footage of the missile attacks, a growing number of strongly corroborating sources have indicated that the fallout form the attacks has far exceeded prior Western and Israeli expectations. A list of some of the most high profile targets successfully hit by Iranian missiles have included Haifa Port, the Haifa Oil Refinery, Ben Gurion Airport, the Weizmann Institute of Science and Technology, Ben Gurion University, the headquarters of the defence firm Rafael, the Israel Nuclear Research Centre in Tel Aviv, and various strategic industrial targets in the city of Kiryat Gat. Significant military targets include Israel’s equivalent to the Pentagon, the Kariya, as well as key defence ministry buildings and the headquarters of the intelligence agency Mossad. Other targets include Ovda Airbase, Nevatim Airbase where all Israeli F-35s are based, and other facilities hosting fixed wing aircraft across the country. A number of mMissile strikes demonstrated the ability to destroy targets fortified underground, with civilians in bomb shelters, and at least one underground command centre, having been hit.

Missile strikes were launched in response to Israeli attacks on Iran on June 13, with the two countries subsequently launching escalating rounds of retaliation. As hostilities intensified, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps was able to increase pressure on Israel’s defences by both sustaining the volume of strikes, and by utilising increasingly complex classes of missiles. This included launches of multi-warhead ballistic missiles, which posed significant new challenges and required several times as many interceptors to neutralise, as well as use of  Fattah missiles with hypersonic glide vehicles which strike at speeds of over Mach 13, and are nearly impossible to intercept. The severity of the damage, and the fast diminishing ability of Israeli missile defences to blunt the attacks, was a primary factor leading Tel Aviv to accept a ceasefire on June 24. Commenting on the extent of the strikes at the subsequent NATO summit, President Donald Trump observed: “Especially those last couple of days, Israel was hit really hard. Those ballistic missiles, boy they took out a lot of buildings.” This highlighted the central role which the arsenal played in deciding the outcome of the war. With Israeli sources widely reporting that the full extent of damage to military facilities in particular has not been made public, it remains highly uncertain how the country may seek to prepare for possible future rounds of hostilities, with a significant possibility remaining that further direct attacks on Iran will be ruled out entirely.

  1. There were three main reasons why all 3 sides quickly agreed to a ceasefire.
    a) Israel had met, and exceeded it's attack objectives.
Iran's nuclear infrastructure had been heavily damaged.
Iran's air defences had been decimated. The were videos -shared by Iranians of non-stealthy Israeli F-15s conducting DAYLIGHT missions over Iranian airspace.
    b) Iran's military leadership including much of the IRGC top echelons had been killed.
Iran still had thousands of o missiles, but it's precious mobile launchers had been steadily destroyed every time they launched missiles, and rapidly diminishing That is why only a weak Kabuki-style attack was carried out by Iran against Al Ubaid base in Qatar

    c) Fuck was desperate for a quick wrap up o the war.

    1. Wakakakaka… what a bunch of f*cked inconsequential analysis.

      1) zionist state is NEVER known to be 见好就收, ie stopped when aim is reached. The genocidal atrocities happened daily in Gaza r glaring proof.

For attacking Iran, the zionists aim r to finished off Iran like Syria. Too bad - too ambitious cultivated by yrs of megalomaniac military successes.

Those videos shared by Iranians (??!!) of non-stealthy Israeli F-15s conducting DAYLIGHT missions over Iranian airspace, happened ONLY at NorthWestern borders of Iran. Further inland attackings were all carried out by F35I.

      2) many top Iranian military top officials were terminated, ALL via Iranian turncoats nurtured by the Mossad. Top nuclear scientists been killed too.

Judging from the fast responses of the Iranian counter-attacks, with fierce missiles, penetrating deep into the zionist state heartlands, the effects of these Iranian losses r just minimum. There r amble & capable follow-ups & replacements.

The destabilization of the Iranian nuclear program will be pending serious invrstigations. 是骡子是马,拉出来遛遛。Facts r better than words.

Iran still had thousands of sophiticated missiles. Those short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) Shahab-1, Shahab-2 & Qiam-1 - r liquid-fueled missiles with ranges of 350 km & 750 km. Fateh-110 family short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) is a series of solid-fueled missiles.

Fattah-1 & Fattah-2 – hypersonic medium-range ballistic missiles reportedly capable of Mach 13 speeds, with ranges of 1,400 km and 1,500 km, respectively r solid fuel based.

Those destroyed mobile launchers were used to deploy the earlier liquid fuel based missiles. To launch them there r long waiting time for liquid fuel refilling, making the launcher vehicles easy ground targets for the F35I.

But with solid fuel based missiles, they can be launched quickly & then moved on to other locations due to zero waiting time for missile fuel loading. The zionist state F35I can't target them so easily.

From the latest waves of destructions emancipated within the heartlands of zionist state, it can be concluded that these Iranian missile attacks r a combination of liquid & solid fuel based missiles. These strategy works well to leach the air defense of the zionist state, causing serious & fatal casualties upon assets & people.

      3) Trump is strapped man, both by his own egomaniac self & yankee deepstate pressure.

Egomaniac in claiming credit in stopping a war that he so claimed to engineered.

Pressured by the deepstate to quickly find a solution to stop the complete carnage of zionist state under heavy Iranian missile attacks. His quick change of mind in shifting the yanks B2 bombings of the 3 Iranian undrrground nuclear hideouts, from within 2 weeks to 2days, indirectly presence the severity of the zionist state sufferings.

Yet, the B2 bombing didn't stop the Iranian hypersonic missile attacks on zionist state. Thus a face saving scheme is concoctedwith various involving parties. Some compromises r reached, with fine details unknown yet, to stop this 12-day war!

BTW, to save Trump's political ass, the total obliteration of those 3 Iranian nuclear sites MUST be maintained with all costs. Otherwise, when those compromised details r been disclosed, Trump is toasted!

  2. Brought to mind that time when Barack was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in the first year of his presidency, before doing anything, and thereafter, the bombs, the missiles, the bullets flew and boots on the ground. An inversion of state, up is down, down is up, just like that flag.
