pipeline fire
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan says the safety of the homes will be assessed by Tenaga Nasional Berhad and the public works department.

“They will check if it is safe to go back or not,” Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan told reporters.
He said the fire had completely damaged 87 houses and partially damaged 148.
About 225 vehicles were also affected, with 174 of them slightly damaged.
He also said that as of 6.30pm, some of the residents were allowed to return to their homes to retrieve their valuables and documents.
“But no one will be allowed to spend the night in their homes.”
A massive gas pipeline fire raged along Jalan Putra Harmoni, Putra Heights, in Subang Jaya, this morning, following a leak which saw a 500m stretch of the pipeline engulfed in flames.
The fire, which spread to several houses and forced residents to evacuate, was finally extinguished at 3.45pm. The two residential areas nearby have been declared restricted zones for safety checks to be carried out.
This evening, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said those whose houses were partially damaged would receive RM2,500 each, while the owners of houses that were badly damaged by the fire would receive RM5,000.
