Transparency is a major key for fighting corruption

Transparency is a major key for fighting corruption

Too many politicians, government officials, and business cronies are hiding behind opaque wall in the Madani government.

In Malaysia, whistleblowers and those who expose corruption are either prosecuted of subject to SLAPP actions (Strategic Litigation Against Public Participation). While the whistleblowers are being dealt with by corrupt actors, the elites are making billions of Ringgit off the government.

The recent trip to Peru of prime minister Anwar Ibrahim and his entourage became comical after the PM said that corporations sponsored part of his trip, while the government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil denied that. The whole storm in a tea cup came when a picture of his daughter Nurul Izzah, indicated she was a member of Anwar’s entourage.

Trump’s Graft busters - Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has previously stated that around one third of the Malaysian budget is lost through leakage each year. This highlights the lack of transparency and corruption it covers up.

There is an excessive extra tax all taxpayers are subsidizing to fund this corruption. If there was no such corruption the peoples’ personal tax incidence would be a lot less, budgets would be in balance and Malaysia’s public debt would be a lot less.

The government could have given the Rakyat free medical services, free education, and provided a welfare net for the needy, if there was more transparency. If there was more transparency, poverty could be almost totally eliminated from Malaysia.

This is the tragedy that is being perpetuated by the Madani government. The poor are getting poorer, and the rich are getting richer.

While Malaysia is revelling in non-transparency, while the United States under the incoming Trump administration is getting ready to rip apart and expose corruption Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk are starting a weekly podcast exposing the corrupt in America. Corruption busters. If they were in Malaysia, the corrupt elite would charge them with sedition and trump up SLAPP actions against them.

That’s a tale of two nations.

Adzhar Ibrahim disagreed with Murray Hunter's notion that Elon Musk would be Trump's graft-buster - read his article Trump’s victory shows power of greed and the ultra rich. 😂😁😆
