Flood victim in Kelantan mocked for exposing her thighs as she prevents her garb from getting wet

TO some, moral indecency knows no boundaries and situation.

Such is the case of a female flood victim who received tongue lashing from netizens following a viral video of her wanting to show how deep the flood waters which has hit her unnamed district in Kelantan while incessantly pulling upwards her blouse to ensure that it did not get wet.

But alas in the midst of her excitement about the rising flood waters, it could have slipped her mind that this is conservative Kelantan where proper covering of the aurat (bodily part deemed private and should not be exposed) is strictly observed for the women folks.

Note that it is already bad enough that the flood victim has exposed her blonde-dyed lengthy hair which again breaches the aurat rule by leaps and bounds but thankfully the focus was on her ‘fair skinned’ thigh.

“We know it’s flooding but do you need not pull up your kain (literally cloth) till the v*gin*l level?” fumed Kak Bam  (@maafcakaplah) who re-posted a 41-second clip of flood waters having reached the thigh level of the said flood victim. “Paris of Malaya never died!”

Taw la banjir tapi perlu ke singkap2 kain smpai nk paras faraj? Bila org mengata org negeri ko, taw plak marah, pusing mcm2. Tapi balik2 korang juga yg buat hal. Paris of Malaya never died!

Banjir di Kelantan agak teruk. Air dah paras peha. Semoga urusan mereka dipermudahkan. 😔

The tweet that has fetched 1.1 million views at the time of writing somehow elicited many hilarious comments with one commenter noting that “this is the only moment to show off one’s thigh” while another suggested that faeces of the goats from the barn near her might be sticking on her body “as she plays with water”.

However, the poster Kak Bam ‘blasted’ one netizen who insinuated that “just let the lady do what she’s doing” for seizing the moment “to wash his eyes (basuh mata)” while another seemingly holier male commenter expressed hope that “one glimpse is suffice for every viewer”.

One netizen reckoned that the flood victim “desires to wear a bikini” while another who is likely a northerner wondered if she had wanted “to show the flood waters or her poen (northern dialect for private part):

One female netizen chided the flood victim for “kept saying ya Allah, ya Allah” despite her ’exposed’ appearance.

“She failed to protect the good image of Islam till I’ve to struggle to answer my non-Muslim colleague who is clueless about Islam. After all, they see our actions as the reflection of our religion,” asserted the netizen.

At the end of the day, another female commenter suggested that indeed the flood waters has reached the danger level – “that of v*gin*l level”. – Nov 30, 2024
