N Sembilan PAS: Peja 'neglecting' state PN

A senior Perikatan Nasional leader in Negeri Sembilan has expressed disappointment with the state of the coalition there after last year’s six state elections.

According to state PAS commissioner Rafiei Mustapha, Negeri Sembilan PN chairperson Ahmad Faizal Azumu has not paid heed to the various problems plaguing the coalition since, including the lack of allocation from the state government.

“I have to come clear on this. Since the state elections, he (Faizal) has not bothered about PN’s condition in the state.

“We won five (state seats), so we have to put in the work to assist all elected assemblypersons,” Utusan Online quoted Rafiei as saying today.

Faizal, who is Bersatu deputy president, was appointed Negeri Sembilan PN chairperson to replace Eddin Syazlee Shith, who was dropped last June.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time PAS has “complained” about Faizal’s leadership. About five months after he became Negeri Sembilan PN chief, the Islamist party rued that he seemed uninterested in the job.

In reply, Faizal said the matter has to be referred to the Bersatu leadership.

No issue if Faizal stays

Rafiei pointed out that such “negligence” should not be happening, especially when PN has five representatives in the state assembly.

The state PN deputy chief said a coalition should be stable to enable its representatives to serve the rakyat better.

Rafiei urged the PN central leadership to intervene and solve the matter as soon as possible.

“I have no issues if the PN central leadership wants to retain (Faizal), as long as the coalition's business in the state proceeds smoothly.”

He said PAS has formed a secretariat to assist the three party representatives in the state, but opined that a similar initiative should come from PN.

In the state election last August, PAS won the Serting, Paroi, and Bagan Pinang state seats, while Bersatu got Labu and Gemas.
