Placing bomb under Siti Kasim’s car is attempted murder, says IGP
KL police say nine witnesses have given their statements and it has obtained various CCTV recordings.

PETALING JAYA: Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain has described the suspected bomb found underneath Siti Kasim’s car as an attempt to murder the lawyer-activist.
Razarudin said the cops are still working on tracking down the suspect by looking for fingerprints on the objects and other related evidence, Harian Metro reported.

“The bomb (placed under Siti’s car) is a serious crime and such a threat is akin to attempted murder. Further investigations are being conducted by the Kuala Lumpur police,” he was quoted as saying.
The IGP added that police are taking “aggressive action” and urged members of the public against speculating on the case.
Last Friday, Siti said she was alerted to two suspicious objects underneath her car after she sent it to a workshop in KL.
She posted a video on Facebook of what looked like plastic water bottles that were attached to the suspension on one of her car tyres, saying: “It looks like a bomb”. A bomb squad was dispatched after Siti called the cops.
Brickfields police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor later said the objects were believed to be an improvised explosive device (IED), adding that the area in Jalan Maarof, Bangsar was immediately cordoned off after Siti called the cops.
Meanwhile, KL police chief Shuhaily Zain said nine witnesses have given their statements over the incident while several CCTV recordings have been obtained.
“We are going through the footage of each CCTV in the areas mentioned by the victim. The case is still under probe.”
