I don’t speak without proof, Anwar doubles down on ‘gambling fund’ claim
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has defended his claim that Perikatan Nasional (PN) had used proceeds from gambling companies to finance its election campaign last year.
Anwar (above) insisted that he “does not speak without evidence”.
This comes after PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin demanded an apology from Anwar, saying he is mulling legal action against the latter.
“Please read the full statement (by minister Azalina Othman Said) and then take action.
“But if he (Muhyiddin) wants to take action immediately, go ahead.
“I don’t come out with a statement that I have no basis for,” he told reporters after launching the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair at WTCKL today.
