KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 — Hamas Political Bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh has congratulated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his appointment as Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister.
In his congratulatory letter, Ismail said Hamas looked forward to Anwar’s continued support of the Palestinian cause and wished him success in leading Malaysia and the causes of the Islamic ummah and its peoples.
“As we congratulate Your Excellency, we remember with a great sense of pride your appreciated stands in support of the cause of our Palestinian people and the blessed Masjid Al-Aqsa.
“We look forward to continuing this path with more courageous and intrepid stands until our people obtain their full rights, our country is liberated from the vicious occupation, and our independent Palestinian state is established, with Al-Quds as its eternal capital,” he said in the letter dated Nov 24.
A copy of the letter was shared with Malaysian media late yesterday.

Years back when Fadzil Noor (PAS president from 1989 to 2002) was in ABIM, he became very good friends with Anwar and was so impressed by the young fiery Islamist activist that he (Fadzil) subsequently anointed Anwar as his successor as President of PAS. Needless to say a PAS bloke in Marang was blardy jealous he was overlooked by Fadzil, wakakaka. Just as well Mahathir head-hunted Anwar for UMNO, or you can imagine DSAI today as PAS President, wakakaka.
With HAMAS sending Anwar a congratulatory letter on the latter becoming PM of Malaysia, guess how blardy envious AGAIN would be the erstwhile so-called Ambassador to the Middle East, wakakaka.
