Realise Khalid’s dream of giving Air Selangor shares to people, says Najib

PETALING JAYA: Najib Razak has called for the late Khalid Ibrahim’s dream of giving Air Selangor shares to consumers to be realised.
In 2008, then Selangor menteri besar Khalid had hoped for a restructuring of Air Selangor to allow for consumers to take up shares in the company.
He believed this would grant consumers a greater say in improving services to the public.
Najib said although the federal government had later supported the restructuring during his time as prime minister, Khalid’s dream never came to pass because he was “betrayed” and sacked by his party.
“As such, I have suggested that Selangor Barisan Nasional consider offering Air Selangor shares as one of its manifesto promises for the next general election so that Khalid’s dream can be realised,” Najib said on Facebook.
“I also have no objections if the current Pakatan Harapan state government does so now as a tribute (to Khalid).”
Khalid served as Selangor menteri besar from 2008 to September 2014, a month after he was sacked from PKR after repeatedly refusing to vacate the post.
He died last Sunday at the age of 75.

Forget about shares in the company.
