Composer Fauzi Marzuki says ‘no comment’ to ex-wife’s ‘new marriage’
Musician claims to be unaware of Hashimah Ramli’s alleged marriage with Datuk Seri Najib Razak after photo surfaces on social media

KUALA LUMPUR – Composer Fauzi Marzuki has refused to comment on allegations of a marriage between his ex-wife Hashimah Ramli (Shima), 53, and former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Speaking to Getaran, The Vibes’ Malay-language sister portal, he said after their divorce in 2013, his former partner is free to marry whoever she wishes.
“Her marriage with him (Najib) has nothing to do with me. I don’t know why the media is looking for me to ask about the couple. I have nothing to do with this,” he said, adding that he was unaware of his ex-wife’s union with Najib until someone had informed him of the news.
Getaran also reported that the pair have been married since over a year ago.
Fauzi tied the knot with Hashimah, who was a singer back then, in 1993.
As a talented composer, he has written many hit songs for a number of well-known local singers, including Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Datuk Sheila Majid, Datuk Sharifah Aini, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Datuk Nash, and Anita Sarawak.
Among his famed hits include Lagenda (Sheila Majid), Kekasih Awal & Akhir (Jamal Abdillah), Pada Syurga Di Wajahmu (Nash), Teringin (Shima), and Di Alam Fana Cinta (Fotograf).
Recently, a “family photograph” of Najib and a woman who seemed to be holding his arm while being flanked by several others had gone viral on social media.

Earlier, Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal cheekily congratulated Najib as a “newlywed” on the latter’s Facebook page.
