“Sour grape” Tajuddin should focus on the bigger picture!
You would think that by now Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman would have learned to let sleeping dogs lie, especially when it comes to the two-train collision incident and his embarrassing gaffe that had let to his sacking as the chairperson of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.
Alas, no. The drama continues, with Tajuddin recently dropping the ‘bombshell’ that he is planning to take legal action against those who have ‘tarnished his reputation’ in the aftermath of the incident.
He bemoaned that he had been humiliated all over Malaysia as an unqualified, insensitive, racist figure who does not follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), and that everything was a hit against him to the point that some were willing to petition for his resignation.
But someone needs to get his priorities in order.
Instead of going on and on about his damaged reputation and threatening legal recourse against the people who had, well, ruined him, Tajuddin should remember that he is still an MP and that he represents the voice of the rakyat, who had voted him into that position.
Shouldn’t more effort be put into helping the people in his constituency to manoeuvre their ways through the pandemic? There are more things to worry about than his bruised ego, that’s for sure!
There have been plenty of news lately about MPs who have gone into the field and taken the hands-on approach to help their people.
They have partaken in initiatives to hand out cash aids, food baskets, groceries, and even laptops to the B40 group of people, and maybe it’s time that Tajuddin takes a leaf out of their book and focus more on the people’s welfare.
After all, he really has got nobody to blame but himself for his fall from grace, and the sooner he comes to that conclusion, the better. – June 23, 2021
