Bullied teen family believes there are more responsible for his death
The family and friend of murder victim T Nhaveen today lodged fresh police reports with more information on the June 2017 incident.
With the information, they are hoping that authorities would haul up more individuals whom they claim are responsible for the 18-year-old's death.
T Previin, 23, who was assaulted alongside Nhaveen during the June 9 incident but managed to escape, also lodged a police report over a death threat he received recently.
Previin is scheduled to testify in Nhaveen's murder trial at the Penang High Court against four youths, all former schoolmates of the deceased.
According to lawyer Rajesh Nagarajan, four police reports were lodged today by Previin, Nhaveen's mother Shanti Dorairaj and her brother Karunagaran at the Timur Laut district police headquarters in Penang.
"One of the reports by Previin is in relation to identifying more individuals who committed the assault on Nhaveen.
"The second one is on the death threat he received from some individuals. We suspect this is directly connected to the ongoing trial as Previin is the next witness who will take the stand," he said when contacted by Malaysiakini.
Rajesh was recently appointed by the estate of Nhaveen to hold a watching brief of the murder trial.
Nhaveen was reportedly attacked by five teenagers who pummeled him with their helmets. He was found at a field nearby his house at Jalan Kaki Bukit in Bukit Gelugor, George Town, Penang.
He was placed on life support upon admission to the Penang Hospital. The teenager died at 6pm on June 15, 2017, while receiving treatment.

Following the incident, police arrested five teenagers to facilitate investigations. Four of them were later charged in court.

However, according to the lawyer, Nhaveen's family believes that there were more individuals involved in the youth's murder.
"Based on the police report lodged by Previin, we believe there were close to 20 people involved," Rajesh said.
The family also called on the authorities to find out the identity of a man who drove the unconscious Nhaveen to the Penang Hospital.
Rajesh said that Karunagaran had gone to Jalan Kaki Bukit after the family had received a call and found the youth unconscious in the back seat of a car.
The victim's uncle then followed the driver in the car to the Penang Hospital.
"This unknown individual, he took Nhaveen to the hospital and the uncle followed. Who is this individual? Has he been investigated? Why did he have the lifeless body of Nhaveen in his backseat?
"All of these questions have not been answered. Nhaveen's family has not been informed of anything by the police," said Rajesh.
The fourth police report was lodged by Shanti who claimed the post-mortem report on Nhaveen was incomplete.
"The aim of lodging the police reports today is to ensure there is a complete investigation into Nhaveen's death and that there are no loose ends
"It is also to make sure that everybody responsible is hauled up. We want justice for Nhaveen in this heinous crime," he said.
Previously, Shanti had told Malaysiakini in an interview that her son had been targeted by bullies since his secondary school days.
