IGP: Footage of Neelofa and husband in Langkawi ... yadda yadda ... - doesn't the IGP have more important stuff to deal with?

Star Online:

IGP: Footage of Neelofa and husband in Langkawi show them 'free and easy', not at work

PETALING JAYA: The police will call in Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor and her newlywed husband Haris Ismail to give their statements over viral pictures and videos of them spending time in Langkawi.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said the images and footage uploaded on the couple's social media platforms appeared to show breaches of standard operating procedures (SOP).

"Her (Neelofa) presence together with her husband went against the SOP and we will take action.

"For cases like this, the proper police SOP is to open an investigation paper and she will be called in for a statement," he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian on Sunday (April 4).

Abdul Hamid had earlier launched a police K9 section in Langkawi.

He said the investigation officer would find out if the couple's activities on the island were part of business matters.

"They will have to answer. But the pictures look free and easy ... which is not allowed.

"This is because she came from an area under the conditional movement control order to another under the recovery MCO," he said.

Earlier, the Brickfields district police confirmed that a permit was given to Neelofa and three others to go to Langkawi for work-related matters.

kt notes:

WTF has the IGP of Malaysia, the HIGHEST police officer in the land, to do with such mundane kerbau when he has so many eff-ing UNSOLVED matters, such as the still "missing" ex of Indira Gandhi and her kidnapped daughter, his alleged cartel within the police force, terrorists, gangsters, an as yet unidentified video clip of illegal-prohibited gay sex at a Sandakan hotel, a list of unaccountable politicians who breached pandemic MCO, etc.

It's eff-ing obvious the IGP has no clue as to his priority.

  2. Free and Easy during work trip should be OK. Humans are not Robots, cannot work 24/7. Even M(ahia)ddin took time off during his recent ME trip to perform Umrah, no problem, nobody question.

And when Ministers cross state boundaries to attend wedding, oso no problem. Even Wee KHAT Siong diam diam, buat tak tahu, never make polis report, only target Grab and taxi drivers trying to make a living.

Sepang police to investigate claim ministers travelled interstate to attend wedding

KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 — Sepang District Police chief ACP Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof today said that police have opened an investigation paper on allegations that several ministers had flouted Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) by crossing state lines for a wedding reception.

Wan Kamarul told Malaysiakini that the probe was launched after a police report was launched by Malaysia United Democratic Alliance (Muda) on March 19 at the Dang Wangi police headquarters.

The probe came under the purview of the Sepang police as the complainant, Muda co-founder Mutalib Uthman who lodged the report, learnt about the allegations when he was in Sepang.

The ministers named in the police report are Science, Innovation and Technology Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa, Higher Education Minister Noraini Ahmad, Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, and Deputy Home Minister Ismail Mohamed Said.
Aside from the four ministers and one deputy minister, Umno Padang Terap MP Mahdzir Khalid was also named.

According to the police report they were said to have attended the wedding reception of Jelebu MP Jalaluddin Alias’ daughter in Seremban, Negri Sembilan on March 14.

Earlier this week pictures of the ministers at the wedding reception were uploaded by Negri Sembilan Umno Youth chief Mohd Zaidy Abdul Kadir on his Instagram account before they were deleted. However, users took screenshots of the pictures and reuploaded them on other social media platforms.

Passengers must have approval to cross districts, state borders
    By Bernama - January 21, 2021

PUTRAJAYA: Taxis, rented cars and e-hailing services are allowed to fully operate during the Movement Control Order (MCO) but they must ensure that their passengers have the necessary approval before crossing districts or state borders.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the government had not restricted or issued any directive to stop or prohibit public transport services including taxi, car rental, and e-hailing services, from operating inter-district or inter-state during the MCO.

During the MCO, he said these services were allowed to operate fully as they fall under essential services category and allowed to cross districts and state borders as permitted under the commercial vehicles category.

"It must be stressed that crossing district or state borders must take into consideration that only passengers with the necessary approvals are allowed to travel," he said in a statement today, adding that the implementation of MCO was to control the movement of people, including drivers and passengers.

Therefore, he said taxis, rented cars, and e-hailing services must ensure that their passengers have the necessary approval to prove their need to travel under the permitted scope before crossing districts or state borders.

"Taxi, car-rental, and e-hailing drivers must carry a copy of the proper documents, be it in hardcopy or softcopy, as proof for drivers to use after dropping off their passengers to a destination across district or state borders.

"This is to prevent irresponsible parties from attempting to violate the MCO by crossing borders for reasons that are not permitted, taking advantage of the allowance given to public transport services to operate inter-state," he said. - Bernama
