GEORGE TOWN, Nov 15 — Police are tracking down a man believed to be a Covid-19 patient who escaped from Penang Hospital today.
A police source said the 23-year-old man who was receiving treatment at the hospital was found missing from his ward at 3.20pm.
“The man wearing a white outfit had left behind a pink wristband on his bed,” the source told Bernama.
Penang police chief Datuk Sahabudin Abd Manan, when contacted by Bernama, confirmed receiving a report on the incident adding that police are actively searching for him. — Bernama

ReplyDeleteThe fact is, the large majority of Covid-19 patients do not get seriously ill, or even no symptoms at all.
ReplyDeleteThe risk to society comes from the virus being highly infectious, even from those who have no symptoms.
And , yes, the risk of becoming seriously ill or even death is always there, especially among the vulnerable groups.
The authorities have the duty to explain to those infected why they must isolate themselves, even if they themselves do not feel sick.
The support structure needs to be there, especially some people face serious personal issues if they are forced to be hospitalised for a few weeks.
