Zahid: Many Umno and BN MPs backing Anwar
BN and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said "many" MPs from his coalition and party have voiced support for PKR president Anwar Ibrahim to form a new government.
"Umno and BN cannot stop MPs who have chosen to support Anwar, who wishes to be granted an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
"I have been informed that many Umno and BN MPs have expressed support (for Anwar). I respect the position of those MPs," he added in a brief statement.
Zahid stressed that Umno and BN are not officially part of the Perikatan Nasional coalition.
"Support for the PN government was based on the support of individual MPs only," he added.
Earlier today, Anwar claimed that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's government had collapsed.
According to the PKR president, he had secured "solid and convincing" majority support of the 222 MPs.
He did not name the MPs who supported him on grounds that he must be granted an audience by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong first.
However, the Port Dickson MP suggested that his purported "new coalition" would have the support of some who used to back Muhyiddin.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong is believed to be currently warded at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur.

1st, loosing monetary control goes against Keynesian principle. More state controls of fiscal policies is. That's basically Marxism in disguise!
2nd, printing more legal tenders doesn't help any countries' economy. It speeds up the collapse of the economy. It's NOT a Keynesian expansionary (???!! Wow!!) policy.
3rd, China is using her HUGE reserve, accumulated over the yrs of strong growths, to stimulate her economy.

Can do! If the process of tightening the money is reactive. Wakakakakaka… just like a successful managed econ in this time of covid-19 - China! Release a little when demands r weak, then tighten back a little when demands r high.
Keynesian dogma requires huge govt controls of market processes to create consumption demands. Its main tools are government spending on big public infrastructure projects to fuel employments. Government spending is a critical factor driving aggregate demand. That means an increase in spending would increase demand. The expected spending comes from sufficient mass employment.
A drawback is that overdoing Keynesian policies increases inflation. Keynes advocated deficit spending during the contractionary phase of the business cycle. But in recent years, politicians have used it even during the expansionary phase.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt used Keynesian economics to build his famous New Deal program. This program was interpreted by many later day economists as a successful tool to pull US out of the great recession. But current researches into the accumulated data during the period of the great recession prove that WASN'T the case.
The great recession worn itself out, as in the simplest term of when one reached the bottom, the only way is up.
President Bush's deficit spending in 2006 and 2007 increased the debt. It also helped create a boom that led to the 2007 financial crisis. President Trump is increasing debt during stable economic growth. That will also lead to a boom-and-bust cycle in a very near future.
Western economies have never emphasizing on rainy day saving, which oriental economies never fail to demand!
