Contact high commission in Abuja, deputy foreign minister tells Malaysians stranded in Chad

Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar said that based on information received from the Malaysian High Commission in Abuja, the N’djamena Chad Airport was expected to be reopened tomorrow

PUTRAJAYA, April 2 ― Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar has told Malaysians stranded in Chad and Nigeria to directly contact the Malaysian High Commission in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

Kamarudin, who is also the Foreign Ministry Covid-19 Task Force chairman, said that based on information received from the Malaysian High Commission in Abuja, the N’djamena Chad Airport was expected to be reopened tomorrow.

“Malaysians stranded in Chad can contact the Malaysian High Commission in Abuja directly at +2347031365197,”he said in a statement today.

Malaysians in Chad?

Nigeria, well I can understand because of the oil industry there, and where apart from Petronas involvement in that oil-rich nation, many Malaysian helicopter pilots (ex TUDM) also work there (also for the oil industry).

I suppose it's again the oil industry in landlocked French-speaking Chad that has attracted Malaysians to be in that 'middle-of-nowhere' spot, well, to be more precise, in the middle of northern part of the African continent.

I heard that Petronas has been involved with Exxon in a joint project in Chad, and it now wants to dispose of its 35% stake.

N’Djamena 

In 2017 the British Telegraph named its capital, N’Djamena, as the 6th LEAST appealing city on Earth. Wow, wakakaka.
