ANWAR FACES UP TO REALITY – WHILE ‘STUCK IN TIME WARP’ MAHATHIR KEEPS UP THE LIES, REFUSES TO PUNISH PERAK MB – EVEN AS TANJUNG PIAI VOTERS, A BAROMETER FOR THE REST OF NATION, PREPARE TO KICK OUT ‘UNTRUSTWORTHY’ DR M & HIS BUNGLING
He said the feedback from a briefing by state leaders indicated that voters wanted to teach the ruling pact a lesson for not delivering on its electoral promises.
“We know the contest is tight. Even in the last general election, our margin of victory was small.
“We need to work hard to win again here,” he said while campaigning in Pontian today.
Anwar also said that the PH government inherited a problematic economy from Barisan Nasional, making it difficult for them to do more for the people.
However, he admitted that this should not be used as an excuse for PH’s failure to deliver for the people.
“We did inherit a bad economy but the people here are not interested in listening to this story.
“We are the government now so we will have to sort out their problems,” said the Port Dickson MP, adding that the coalition was aware of the people’s problems and urged the voters to continue to support and give them support to solve the issues.
“So please don’t give your vote away to the opposition. We will work hard to solve all your problems,” he said.
The Tanjung Piai parliamentary by-election on November 16 is seeing a six-horse race between Karmaine Saidini (PH), Wee Jeck Seng (Barisan Nasional), Wendy Subramaniam (Gerakan), Dr Badhrulhisham Abdul Aziz (Barisan Jemaah Islamiah) and two independent candidates: tuition centre founder Dr Ang Chuan Lock and businesswoman Faridah Aryani Abd Ghaffar.
No action against Perak MB, he was simply explaining his role, says Dr Mahathir
how could Mahathir ever take disciplinary action against his sole ADUN in Perak? |
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Faizal was simply trying to explain to the locals about his duties as a Malay menteri besar and that he was not being controlled by DAP.
“He was surrounded by aggressive men. These men believe that DAP is controlling the country.
“He was trying to explain to them that he is the MB. A Malay MB, and he was not being dictated to by DAP.
Bro I have UMNO blood lah & I am still very kamcheng with UMNO - hope you guys will catch lots of fish |
“In some situations, you need to explain these to the people,” Dr Mahathir said.
Faizal was caught in a controversy recently after he told a group of villagers in Tg Piai that he was facing a lone battle against DAP in Perak.
The remarks were recorded on video and later shared on social media.
“In Perak, I am fighting a desperate battle alone against ‘puak-puak’ (factions) DAP.
“I want to defend the land of the Malays and our religion. I am doing this slowly,” said the former Umno man in the six-minute video.

Faizal won the Chenderiang seat in the general election last year and is the sole Bersatu PRIBUMI assemblyman in Perak.
He later clarified his statement saying that his speech was taken out of context.
Dr Mahathir was also asked to comment on Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak’s comment that Faizal is not fit to be the Perak MB.
“There is no problem (among the parties in Perak). They are not fighting or quarrelling,” he said.

The Tg Piai parliamentary seat became vacant after its incumbent Md Farid Md Rafik died in September due to a heart failure.
The by-election – set to take place on Saturday – will see a six-way fight between PH, BN, Gerakan, Berjasa and two independents.
If Toonise/Bersatu don't want to punish the Perak MB for insulting DAP then DAP don't have to punish Ronnie Liew for insulting Toonsie.
ReplyDeleteFairs Fair.
So you see, DAP stands up to Bersatu/Toonsie.
Whatever the outcome of Tanjung Piai by-election DAP will "win".
ReplyDeleteIf Bersatu loses (like what 99% of people predict), their MPs will be reduced from 26 to 25, but greater will be the impact of the humiliation to Toonsie and Bersatu. DAP (and PKR, Amanah) have greater reason to demand Toonsie step down.
If Bersatu wins (like what only 1% of the people predict) then DAP will be credited for winning the Chinese votes away from MCA for Bersatu, in spite of the lies, falsehoods and the kitchen sink thrown at DAP, even though they are not contesting.
But I am the lone-ranger hoping Gerakan wins.....ha ha ha or at least win a sizeable number of votes.
