Looks like I will keep my gunny strings for another occasion as Sweetie Vivian Wong will become the MP for Sandakan once the results of the by-election has been finalised.
The Pakatan big guns, especially local hero Shapie Apdal, have ensured that the DAP wins the Sandakan by-election. It certainly would not do for PH to have a consecutive 4th loss, wakakaka.

The Bossku tsunami broke upon Sandakan's shore, but failed to get through this time.
This was basically a contest betweem two Ah Mois. The results are largely irrelevant to the overwhelming majority of constituencies in Malaysia.

DeleteLet’s face it, DAP is the only party with a strong nationwide appeal, in Peninsular, Sabah and Sarawak. No other party has that national appeal or reach, not UMNO, not PAS, not anybody else. Their ministers and deputy ministers are outperforming those from other parties, eg the hopeless ones from Bersatu, even Chua Soi Lek acknowledges Guanee is doing a fantastic job as Finance Minister, arguably the most challenging ministerial job.

The SRC Kleptocracy wasn't just the work of Bossku alone. The whole system was corrupt and corrupted.

ReplyDelete1. People in SABAH clearly have shifted their support and now trust Party Warisan Sabah and their coalition partners instead of UMNO Sabah and their coalition partners.
2. They are more discerning in selecting to vote candidates based on leadership potential/qualities and with higher morals just like in West Malaysia.
3. Voters turnout is very dependent on the economic situation of the particular constituency.
SAndakan with its Chinese voters has been a DAP stronghold - doesn't indicate general trends
Delete49% voters in Sandakan are non-Chinese. It would have been impossible to get the majority that was obtained without very substantial voted from Sabahan natives.
