Bay-Chay-Tian

Bay-Chay-Tian.

my 'throne' - wakakaka

Yes, the phrase above is in Penang Hokkien which means literally ta'mampu-duduk-takhta (singgasana) [couldn't sit or more correctly, couldn't ascend to the throne (of power, eg, as a PM)].

The 'throne' in this post has nothing to do with royal thrones but more with 'holding the top political power'.

It's a popular but sad phrase among Chinese who use it to describe people who were NOT DESTINED to become Emperor (in olden days) or PM in today's political world [or alternatively President in a presidential political system as in the USA, France, South Korea, Taiwan].

Another Chinese phrase would be 'Without the Mandate of Heaven'.

Hillary Rodham Clinton

Recently, we witnessed a case of bay-chay-tian in the USA where Hillary Rodham Clinton was just not fated to become President of the USA, though she possessed(s) all the qualifications, experience, competency, pedigree and personality, and was expected to have won hands down against a political clown. Instead, the Americans voted in the dungu, wakakaka.

An Australia case would have been the sad failure of Kim Beazley (Labor), one of the most capable Labor minister, to become PM. He was DPM to Paul Keating but after Keating left the party to his stewardship, Labor lost out to the Coalition.

Kim Beazley

A Rhodes scholar and an expert on American affairs, he was very likeable but never did become what he wanted to be, PM of Australia. Instead Labor jokers like Mark Latham including ultra-narcissist Kevin Rudd succeeded. Fate dealt a cruel joke on Australian politics in the same way as it did recently to the USA.

loose cannon Mark Latham

ultra-narcissist Mandarin-speaking Kevin Rudd

In Malaysia of course the most famous person suffering from the curse of bay-chay-tian would be Ku Li. I needn't go into his sad political life to inform you how he was played out left, right and centre. Others you could add to Ku Li's tragic category would be Musa Hitam and the late Tun Dr Ismail, probably the BEST PM we never had but who was called by his Maker too soon. Where they all failed, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (AAB) succeeded, wakakaka.

Ku Li

Musa Hitam

late Tun Dr Ismail

All the above brings us to Anwar Ibrahim, the man who missed out and missed out and missed out over the years since 1997.

His seeming impatience might have riled Mahathir-adorers and Azmin-worshippers, but how is he to be PM in two years time, as mandated by Pakatan, if he doesn't warm up a bit on power politics (having been out of touch for 21 years including 11 years of imprisonment), and probably replace his incompetent wife as DPM and then be prepared to take over from Mahathir who is fast changing his promise to leave in two years time as he has just changed his promise to dissolve the CEP in 100 days.

Mahathir is a man you cannot trust. He is extremely slithery with his words and a master Machiavellian. To top all these sinister doubts about the Old Man, it's known and proven he hates, abhors and detests Anwar with a vengeance.

Then, in the shadowy wing, Azmin Ali waits patiently like a reticulated python, all coiled up and ready to strike and swallow up the Anwar legacy. His loyalist Zuraida Kamaruddin has even brazenly demanded that Anwar states his stand regarding the way in which the Port Dickson (PD) parliamentary seat was vacated for him, while another of Azmin's dwarfs Tian Chua has expressed his anger at Rafizi very-hush-hush move to enthrone Anwar next to the PM's position.

hmmm, now who shall I fCk up next?

It's all very oppressing, intimidating and forbidding for Anwar whose situational awareness tells him that now must be the time to move.

But Anwar will find his once-popularity with especially the youth is no more - those youths have grown up and a new generation of voters are now in place and who (not realising who Mahathir had been in his 4th Reich) adulate Mahathir and even believe Anwar to be a stumbling block to the Old Man's continuing tenure as PM, preferably (in their moronic minds) for the next 1,000 years. They now are unlikely to support or even vote for Anwar.

National Patriots Association, the military veteran group, has warned Anwar against causing a by-election in PD as they favour the continuation of former-Admiral Danyal Balagopal Abdullah as the local MP, but the bloke himself has insisted on resigning and willingly giving up his PD seat for Anwar to contest.

Danyal Balagopal Abdullah

Nonetheless, it's not nice for Anwar to hear retired Brig-Gen Raja Arshad warning him of a military 'backlash' in PD if he were to stand there in a by-election.

Brig-Jen (rtd) Raja Arshad

Even Siti Kasim, renowned activist has urged PD voters to vote against Anwar, saying:

PKR dan keluarga Anwar mesti diberi pengajaran kerana ini kali ketiga mereka mengadakan pilihan raya untuk memberi laluan kepada pemimpin utama PKR itu.

Mereka fikir mereka boleh melakukan apa sahaja yang mereka suka sehingga menjejaskan kami? Tidak!

Siti Kasim

Siti is pissed off that just for the sake of bringing in cultist personality like Anwar, by-elections after by-elections have been unnecessarily happening.

Thus, with several supposedly friendly forces (including Azmin's
Dökkálfar Dwarfs) now being extremely unfriendly to him, Anwar MUST win this time or he'll be another bay-chay-tian.

I am not politically clued on PD but I am sure the Rafizi's Pandan Cats would have done their mathematics to confidently stand Anwar there.

Ironically, PD has been the location that Anwar had once threatened to reveal happenings of sordid tales about an allegedly amorous (then-DPM) Najib.

That's when I first came to hear of his manmanlai teasing to tell all about Najib's alleged amorous activities during an Ijok by-election campaign. Since then, I have named Anwar as Mr Manmanlai, wakakaka. But I hope PD won't be Najib's last laugh at Anwar.

(above) Dökkálfar Dwarfs [Latheefa Koya not in photo]

(below) Pandan Cats

Demographics tell us that PD voters comprise 43% Malays, 33% Chinese and 22% Indian. It's the sort of ethnic mix that Mahathir once liked (during his 4th Reich).

When he was PM during the period 1981 to 2003, Mahathir didn't trust the Malays to take him and his party across the finishing line but depended on the nons to do so out of fear of Islamic PAS, thus he liked 'mixed constituencies' along the ratio of 60 to 65% Malays to 35 to 40% nons. Indeed it was Mahathir himself who made the Chinese and Indians into 'King-makers' - he should stop blaming the Chinese for what he did in his personal political interests.

when he boasted of that in 1969, it cost him a seat in parliament and 5 years out in the cold - since then he was more circumspect though deep in his heart he still detests the nons

In GE14, Danyal garnered 36,225 votes to defeat V Mogan of BN-MIC (18,515 votes) and PAS' Mahfuz Roslan (6,594 votes). Thus there is a pro-PH base of around 59%. But this will be a by-election and things may work out differently. If the pro-PH Chinese and Indians don't play Anwar out he will be in parliament soon. Thus PKR and the DAP must work harder for Anwar (unless they don't want to).

Or, will he enter Malaysian history alongside Ku Li, Musa Hitam and Tun Dr Ismail as footnotes?

  1. Objectively, the current PM is at an age where there is statistically a high possibility that he may quite suddenly find himself unable to carry on his duties as Prime Minister.

Enjoying easy-going remaining days as a Grandfather or Great-Grandfather is a very different proposition from being PM.

He looked very tired and occasionally muddled during the recent Brunei trip.
Some of his outbursts and obvious impatience arises from the realisation that he has very limited time to carry out what he wants to get done, and if it doesn't happen, he won't be around to see it through.

The mutually agreed next PM, accepted by PKR, DAP, Pribumi, PAN is Anwar Ibrahim.

So the formally agreed next PM has to be in a Constitutional position to take over ie. he must be an elected MP.
Otherwise there will be a very messy power struggle if and when the PM suddenly finds himself unable to continue.

At THAT point, if Anwar is not an MP, then the schemes to block Anwar, and take over power themselves would get really ugly.

Many people do not want to see Anwar as PM.
Pribumi members, of course, and PKR leaders who are impatient not to eventually become Anwar's successor, but to take over immediately.

Walahwei...Bey-TaHan... Pakatan now harassing Najib's defence lawyer by charging him directly with Money Laundering 1MDB funds.

My lawyer friends already said weeks ago that Shafee himself was in deep shit after it was revealed that he personally directly received funds from Najib.

Not paid out of UMNO bank account, and not paid into his law firm's official account - so these look like personal private transactions.

Going to be Tough for Shafee and Najib to defend that these were legitimate official business dealings.

  3. I really beh chay tian over this Maszlee fler.

He has got to go down as a huge disappointment and mistake as Education Minister. First he gives the excuse of “saving the salary” of the IIUM President (a few measly million a year?). Then he changes the reason and gives a hair-brained one: that he has been given the mission (by who he does not explain) to make IIUM the “Oxford of Islam”.

Today that title goes to Al Azhar University in Cairo and that is not going to change no matter what miracles Maszlee performs at IIUM.

Doesn’t he realise he has an even bigger job?

What about the other tertiary institutions? Example: How about helping University Malaya “regain its glory” (which he wants to do at IIUM) and become a top 50 ranked university like NUS, it’s one-time “branch” university?

What about the dilapidated secondary, primary schools in rural areas etc? They will all feel second in importance compared to the need to glorify IIUM. St Johns Institution not being able to pay their Tenaga bill....shameful.

Do something about the brain drain, our top secondary school students leaving the country to study overseas; many won’t come back.

If he wants to make IIUM the Oxford of Islam, as Education Minister he can appoint the best religious scholars and administrators from Al Azhar and Oxford/Harvard/whatever universities to do the job. Or does he think he is the only one who can do it? Has Allah appointed / anointed him and him only?

If in 120 days all he has achieved is to change school shoes from white to black how long will it take to make IIUM equal to Oxford or Al Azhar.

The Education Ministry usually has one of the largest budget allocations. I hope he is giving this top priority since Budget Day is just around the corner. The IIUM Presidency is a tiny minuscule job compared to the Budget preparation for your ministry.

UEC recognition he has pushed back 5 years. The Presidency of IIUM he puts as immediate priority. But UEC recognition was a Harapan promise, not the glorification of IIUM.

Deputy Minister Teo Nie Ching must be pulling her hair out.

    I’m NOT lovin’ this “minister”.

  4. How come a Penang Lang does not understand Penang Hokkien that "Bay Chay Tian" means "Cannot Sit/Stand Still or Moving about continously" The proper Hokkien phrase to use should be "Boh Hok Kee - Without the Mandate of Heaven".

  5. The ex-Navy Admiral MP sure is patriotic and true to the Navy's motto of "Sedia Berkorban - Ready to Sacrifice". That is the difference between a Veteran MP and a civilian MP. They just follow any higher orders which is good for the King and Country irrespective of the consequences to himself or to his voters/troops under his command. Politics come second only to their loyalty.

That is the difference between one trained as a soldier and a civilian and it carries on even when they leave the services and become a Veteran. It even overides their religious and racist biasness if they are one when it comes to them fulfilling their responsibilities.

The unfortunate consequences of such trained people is that Kings, Emperors or even dictators can abuse their loyalties and oath to King and Country and used them for their own quest to remain in power or carry out their own hidden evil motives.

Exceptions are only those who got their ranks overnite thru political means and did not undergo the full military system of training.

Malaysian Armed Forces inherited such a military system from the British (who built Empires thru military means) and the hundreds of years of experience have proven that soldiers always obey commands if trained well without questions asked. Politics, human rights, religion, race, rationality, wisdom etc and even friends are all secondary in nature.

  6. I wonder what voters (whether they belong to the Dwarfs or Cats Club, civil rights group, NGOs, ordinary citizens etc) who supported the PH Govt. in the last GE14 elections to get rid of the BN regime, what were they hoping for?

    1. Is it just to make TDM as PM at age 93 until he meets his Maker and no one else can be better than him?

    2. Is it to just get rid of Najib and BN but retain the old regime style of governance and policies albeit with a little bit of reforms?

    3. Is it to just save the country from being bankrupted from thieves, robbers, crooks, murderers etc?

4, Is it just to punish crooks, thieves, nurderers, robbers and bring them to justice?

    5. Is is just to save the country from injustices, race and religious bigotry?

    5. Is it just to save the country's institutions from degradation in the clutches of more and more authoritarian dictatorship?

And many more reasons all alluding to saving the country and why they vote for a PH Govt.

Now that PH is the ruling Govt. and in their 100 days have made good on some manifestos promises and reforms, why are some voters still not satisfied? Most are still patient and awaiting for PH to fulfill their other promises and reforms.

    Is it because:

    1. TDM at age 93 can only do so much to a broken down system but is slow in other reforms?

    2. The reforms required is not progressing as much and may be stalling according to their own expectations.

    3. The hopes of a New Malaysia with reforms in place is dimming and everyone sees instead Mahathirism coming back slowly.

    The fact remains as follows:

    1. TDM is never a real PH Reformist for, his way to him is the only way. If he had had been a real PH reformist at heart, it would have been seen during his past 22 years when he was the 4th PM.

    2. AI is the one who brought forth the idea of Reformation and it remains to this day that it was that which binds and holds the major PH coalition parties today.

    3. Reformation main ideals remains to be for a democratic govt., institutions of integrity, good governance, social justice and bringing hopes and future to meet the aspirations of current and future generations of Malaysians.

Now, the real questions to be asked:

    1. Can TDM achieve this within his current lifespan even if he has changed?

    2. If TDM does not wake up the next morning without a smooth succession plan in place, will this not cause instability and derailment of the Reformasi plan?

    3. Is it not clear that AI needs to follow the rules of laws and democratic process to be first elected as MP, appointed as TPM before being nominated and agreed to as PM by the majority of MPs in Parliament to fulfill the pact made by all PH component parties?

So why so much noises and critisms now?

    1. How sure are the PH critics that TDM will not meet his Maker tomorow morning, the day after, month after or the year after.

    2. Without a smooth transition plan in place now, the pact made for AI to be the next PM maybe disrupted from taking place and cause great instability to the PH Govt. and give rise to even greater political jostlings among those who do not see the pact as a promise made to be honoured and kept.

What were the majority of Malaysians voting and hoping for in GE14? Is their hopes and dreams going to be hijacked again by politicians and interested groups?

  7. BRILLIANT MOVE TOMMY !!!!

Seeing that the charges against Shafee includes money laundering (money received from 1MDB) and he is representing Najib on the SRC case (SRC was a 1MDB subsidiary before) this should disqualify this "hot shot lawyer" (as Najib boastfully called him) to a hot soup lawyer.

From being a defence lawyer for Najib he should now be sitting in the dock next to Najib.

      What a muddled brain !

It was revealed that Shafee personally directly received funds from Najib. The money he received was reportedly NOT paid out of UMNO's bank account, and not paid into his law firm's official account - so these look like personal private transactions.

Lawyer-Client confidentiality only applies to information and advice directly related to the conduct of the legal case that he was hired for.

Any other offence that the Lawyer is alleged to have been involved is still subject to prosecution.

Example, Trump lawyer Michael Cohen has been arrested and charged with offenses related to using Trump Campaign funds to induce a Porn Star to keep quiet and lie about her affair with Trump.
Whatever his discussions with Trump on legal matters remain out of bounds, but use of Campaign funds for settling a personal matter constitutes an offence in itself under US law. No immunity conferred by being a lawyer to Trump.

"The lawyer was also hit with two additional counts of making false declarations under the Income Tax Act, over the failure to include the RM9.5 million in his annual tax filing for the year."

Wakakaka...to cover up on the 1MDB angle, Shafee claimed the RM 9.5 Million from Najib was payment made for legal work he did for UMNO 20 years earlier.

Now...if it was for payment for legal work carried out, that means he is claiming it was professional income, even if delayed 20 years.
Lets say we believe the Shafee bullshit fairy tale at face value, he is still in Hot Soup for Income Tax evasion, not declaring the professional income for so many years until 2018.

Whichever way the story goes, Shafee is a dead duck.

    QUOTE
Najib shows proof he returned RM2.6 bil to Saudis
    FMT Reporters - September 13, 2018

Former prime minister Najib Razak denies he kept the money to buy rings and diamonds.

PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Najib Razak has furnished evidence to back his claims that the RM2.6 billion donation he received in his personal account was returned to King Abdullah four months after receiving it.

In a Facebook post accompanied by photographs of banking documents and a letter from Saudi Arabia, Najib said he received the money a month before the 13th general election and that he asked King Abdullah for “contingency funds” for the election as he was worried of attempts to buy over Barisan Nasional representatives to join the then Pakatan Rakyat.

“I decided against asking for funds from local tycoons as done by the country’s fourth prime minister because they would ask for projects of a higher value in return. I don’t agree with cronyism.”

He said Prince Abdulaziz Al-Saud wrote to him on March 1, 2013, to inform him that US$800 million would be channelled to him in stages, though the amount he received was only US$681 million.

He added that as then Umno president, it was his duty to source for party funds and manage them, and that although the money went into his personal account, they were for political activities.

But after not seeing any signs of defections post-GE13, Najib said he made the decision to return the money as he no longer needed it and noted the difference in amount returned, some US$61 million, was due to a 10% drop in exchange rates.

“The bottom line is that I didn’t keep the RM2.6 billion.

“If someone wanted to siphon money they wouldn’t keep it in their personal bank account and we know it is not from 1MDB funds which were sourced from borrowings.”

Borrowed money, he said, must be repaid and that if it was siphoned there would be problems in repayment.

“Actually, Pakatan Harapan leaders know this but don’t want to admit that I didn’t keep the RM2.6 billion to buy rings and diamonds.

“But this is the perception they created among the people, as if I stole billions, and many were influenced.”

Najib said he was only revealing the documents now as the late King Abdullah had asked him not to publicise the donation.

“But my main concern then was whether I, as prime minister, should reveal to the world that there were attempts to buy over MPs.”

  11. When he was the Prime Minister, the journalists had a hard time catching hold of him to get any comments with regards to current affairs of the nation then. He was always shy of giving comments, like as though he had a huge nugget of gold in his mouth and was afraid of opening his mouth in case the gold would drop out...and most time, the majority citizens were not even aware that their ex PM was actually not in the country and was gallivanting all over the globe, sometime on huge shopping spree with his avaricious wife as it turned out.

Now after losing power and with jail terms starring in his face, this guy just couldn't stop opening his mouth and couldn't stop Facebooking...he has comments on all things happening in this country, every day now we get to hear of his views...and what a revelation (!) ....by opening his stupid gap, we now know he has a seriously lame brain. A cursory check on his comments will show how full of holes most of them are and he's now a laughing stock on top of the disgust people now has of him. Better he keeps to his elegant silence but then, beggars can't be choosers...all the Ahmad Mazlan, the Sabah Ketiak guy, the Opportunist Nazri, the KJ president wannabe etc etc....all the sycophant hantam guys have melted away.
