SHAH ALAM: Barisan Nasional lost to Pakatan Harapan in the 14th General Election because of internal conflicts, says Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
Even though many attributed BN’s failure to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, he said there were other factors that had led to the party’s downfall.
“Some people said BN lost in GE14 solely because of a Datuk Seri. But, it was not only because of the party president,” he said.
“It was also not because of any tsunamis. Umno was plagued by internal issues among members at the grassroots, branches and divisions. There were boycotts and issues concerning the nomination of candidates.
“This is something we must address. We should not repeat our mistakes and issues must be resolved internally. Only then can Umno bounce back from its downfall.
“Today, we are seeing a new Umno. We have the responsibility to give Umno a new look. We must identify our weaknesses and mistakes, and work towards overcoming them.”
Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said Umno needed a new discourse and ideas. He said the party had to produce youth leaders of high calibre in the fast-changing political scene.
“We have to learn from our mistakes and take a new approach to face the new Malaysia,” he said.

DeleteWhy must some contributors use words which are less than civilised ? I am sure that expressing thoughts without using the four-letter words is just fine and can convey the intended opinions.

Wakakakakakaka Internally sabotaged? Why didn't he sent his thugs to beat those suspected of internal sabotage and overturn their tables if they are found at the warungs or kopitiams.
ReplyDeleteIt's more likely he meant during the last GE14, the Fulus dished out were not distributed down the line with warlords at divisions and branches keeping most for themselves and thus the BN workers were less hardworking and became choir singers instead of doing actual campaigning work.
Instead, most of the campaigning were subcontracted to Govt. , GLCs, GLICs, statutory bodies, friendly cronies and their companies, bloggers, PR companies etc.
And everyone were having a jolly good time partying instead of campaigning, thinking, no way BN could lose after 60 years of rule, Cash is King to win over votes and that most Malaysians would again and again be conned by emotions of race and religion to sell and give their votes.
Isn't that the Truth?
And still being conned. Casualties including hy low, bruno,hy and etc etc etc
Deletesabotage is a good excuse for total failure
ReplyDeletepreviously the lure of Big rewards and high positions turned sabotage into a culture and tradition, it became a career for some
