New Drama Queen

Malaysiakini - Jet firm: Technical issue with Dr M's jet did not jeopardise safety (extracts):

VistaJet, the private jet charter engaged by Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad, confirmed that his aircraft faced a technical issue but stressed that it did not jeopardise safety.

"VistaJet confirms the recent statements of the Malaysian Authorities that one of the company’s aircraft had a technical issue in its normal course of operations before departure which at no point jeopardised safety.

"Another VistaJet aircraft was immediately made available to fulfil the customer's schedule," the company was quoted as saying by The Star Online.

Hello there,
"Another VistaJet aircraft was immediately made available to fulfil the customer's schedule"?

Didn't Mahathir claim other aircraft owners were warned not to lend him their aircraft?

maaf, melayu mudah lupa lah

NST had reported: He further alleged that certain quarters had acted as if they knew that there was a damage to his private jet and had prevented his close friends from lending their aircraft to him.

"I had sought the help from three of my close friends and they said they could not lend me their aircraft and one of them even told me that he had received a warning from certain people not to lend his aircraft to me.

"It seemed to me that certain people had known that my aircraft was damaged and tried to make sure that there was no other aircraft available to fly me to Langkawi.

"Fortunately, I had another friend who was flying from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore but he was willing to divert the flight to send me to Langkawi."

Has Mahathir been ratcheting up the story?

    2. Shortly before the 2008 general elections, I used to write for a magazine which featured the Malaysian Internet scene (social, cultural and lifestyle) aspects, and blogging was the flavour of the day back then.

Jeff Ooi who was with Gerakan back then, was famous within the Internet scene for his blog Screenshots and he had a column in our magazine which described him as a "prominent blogger".

In the run up to the 2008 GE, Jeff announced his switch to DAP and candidacy for MP of Jelutong, Penang at a press conference at the Food Foundry in Section 17, Petaling Jaya attended by journalists, fellow bloggers and Twitterers who blogged and tweeted the news right from there.

However, I later learned that when Jeff went to Jelutong to campaign, he discovered that hardly anybody had heard of him, so he drastically cut back on blogging, rolled up his sleeves and campaigned the traditional way and won two terms, before being dropped in GE14.

The moral of this story is that Jeff was only a prominent blogger amongst the limited circle of the blogosphere which he was a part of - an echo chamber in which we all interacted with each other and thought that we were the world, when we were merely a tiny spec floating in cyberspace.

So no surprise that KTemoc is not known amongst your aviation colleagues, who perhaps interact within their own respective echo chambers elsewhere in cyberspace.

No insult intended to KTemoc, but there is only a handful of use arguing in the comments section over here.

  2. U hired a car from a supposedly reputed car hiring company. Then upon collecting the car & discovered there was a technical problem with the car when starting it. Hmmmm…… reputed???

    What do u do?

    1) accept a replacement car from the hire firm

    2) take an alternative ride from a friend

KT would accept option 1, hopefully, based on his trustful nature - wakakakaka…

Mamak smartly choosing option 2 based on the circumstances, even if it might be paranoid.

Who's playing safe & who's the drama queen worthy of the m'sia Oscar?

  5. Don't play play with Karma. What you do to others may come back to haunt you back.

Whether TDM is paranoid, drama Queen or whatever it ain't as bad as the drama by Taiwanese politicians.

Anyway the chances of a political assasination on TDM is quite slim becos it would definitely cause a major earthquake, instead of just a Tsunami, in winning the election outright.

So, it is a lousy drama if there is one showing.

Just look at those nomination trailers lah as the indicators for things to come.

  8. Raja Klentong and his Big Bawang gang went to town about winning the case against Sarawak Report. Talk about misleading and of course they won't be charged with fake news. Only blur-sotong and those living under the tempurung will chant kita menang, kita menang...but when you ask them menang apa, why were they paid only that miserly hundred plus thousand if they win big, they gape at you ! They don't even know what that amount paid is for !!!

Here's one rather good explanation and I took the liberty to quote :

"All lies from PAS. The judge refused SR application for an early hearing and dismissal on the basis that the story was of public interest. The judge fixed it for full trial next year because of the issues raised in the claim and defence which are all very fact sensitive. SR's application to amend their defence to plead the enhanced defence of truth based on the recording of Nik Abduh confirming that PAS received money from UMNO was allowed by the High Court. Costs was to borne by SR for both applications but for less than what Hadi asked for through his counsel. There were not 5 interlocutory applications but only 2."
