Equine-feed vs Quinoa

Malaysiakini - Najib: My quinoa diet cheaper than Dr M's horse feed (extracts):

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today rebutted criticism that he was out of touch due to his pricey quinoa diet, stressing that they were cheaper than the feed for former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's horses.

Mahathir, who is also Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu chairperson, previously said he only ate local rice and mocked Najib for switching from rice to quinoa, which was around 20 times more expensive.

"Even my quinoa diet can become an issue. I still do eat nasi lemak and nasi vanggey.

"But did Mahathir think about his horse feed which is more expensive?

"A month's horse feed can buy me three years of quinoa. How many horses does Mahathir have?" Najib was quoted as saying by Sin Chew Daily.

allegedly 40

Najib said this during a people's gathering with leaders in Negeri Sembilan today.

The prime minister was referring to claims that Mahathir owned a ranch in Argentina.

I am not going to say anything - zipped my mouth and locked down my two typing fingers.

  1. What the heck is going on in Malaysian politics?I thought that American politics was weirder.Only because horndog Donald Trump was f#cking pornstars and pigs. Now on our own backyard,it is all about horses.

  3. Bagus la macam ni...the 2 evils trading blows who is richer, wakakaka. I imagine Mahathir rebutting with "my isteri has only a ruby necklace worth RM 1200 and your wife was reported to possess rare pink diamonds worth RM 128 million".

One blogger puts it this way :

Najib’s “Quinoa” Stunt Goes Haywire – Forget Corruption, His Stupidity Is Unforgivable.
The screw-up didn’t end there. Thanks to Najib’s big mouth about the Peruan grain, something which nobody knows exist until now, it has been exposed that his son – Mohd Norashman Najib – is the guy behind the import, and most likely the monopoly, of quinoa into the country. Norashman, popularly known as Ashman, is the youngest and favourite son of Najib and wife Rosmah.

Ashman was also known within his circle of friends as a playboy even during school time. Two years ago in 2016, he famously used his family connection to force Zouk Singapore into kicking Egyptian DJ Fadi and Aly out earlier than their schedule, because the son of Najib couldn’t wait and wanted to show off his disk jockeying skill at the disco.

    1. Quinoa is actually a very well known grain amongst the health-conscious. Its one of those "superfoods" (google it) that can be taken at moderate amounts yet gives a satisfying meal due to its rich nutrients.

Those not familiar may balk at the price, but its quite affordable to the upper-classes, which Najib comes from. These people are usually in important positions in public/private sectors and have little time for healthy living or constant balanced diet, therefore these superfoods are touted to these 24/7 busy people.

      The key is moderate intake.

    2. I tried Quinoa before... good for Old and Middle Aged Folks ... but absolutely unaffordable as a regular food.

    3. As mentioned, the key is moderate intake. A bag could last a couple for perhaps 1 week with light-moderate consumption. Definitely at current prices its unaffordable for the masses, but not so to those upper-middle to upper class society, where Najib hails from.

I knew of CEOs that daily consumes & constantly promote the wonders of quinoa and other superfoods within their social circles. Most definitely, Najib's diet is a more palatable one compared to Trump's daily partake of well-done steaks slathered with ketchup or towering burgers.

    2. Where am I protecting Mahathir ?

I suspect somebody here is doing it for money...from the 24 x 7 unrelenting biased attacks he has made on one person, where he was silent before the person "changed sides" , and the shrill desperation of his attacks.

  5. Wakakakaka....U better blinded yr eyes too since every time something 'scandalous' related to mamak, u impulsively jump into it. Like this piece!

1st, where's the apple to apple comparison le!

Man's food vs horse feed! Wakakakaka again.

BTW, how does pinklips know mamaks horses r feeding on those expensive diets unearthed by u?

R u, the agent supplying mamak's horse ranch feedstock need ke?

Lagi, a 250g bag of organic quinoa sold at Tesco supermarket costs RM14.79, or more depending on brand. This means a 10kg pack of Peruan gluten-free quinoa would cost a whopping RM591.60 – 23 times more expensive than a similar 10kg pack of rice. In other words, while ordinary 30 million Malaysians eat normal rice, Najib dines like a Peruan King.

Moreover, horses in the ranch r not racing horses, thus their diets differ!

R u sure u tau those brands of horse feed r for racing horse, not ranch horse? Lagi, r u sure pinklips referred to those brands?

Is it possible, u kenal tipu lagi satu kali together with yr nincompoop info suppliers?

Wakakakaka……a very bad start for yr dog's year - must have 犯太岁!U born in the year of the dog ke?
