PAS has been busy in Kelantan

I knew it will be a great year, 2018, for us as we tackle our nation's social, political, cultural, economic, educational, sporting (etc etc etc) improvement and well-being, meaning we want better accountability from our representatives, a corruption-free country and a prosperous society free from hunger, wants, oppression, rights and insecurity.

Not to be outdone, PAS in Kelantan has also been busy with its pet project, namely, the implementation of hudud and accompanying legislation to enable full compliance to the laws plus the enforcement of punishments.

THus we read in Malaysiakini the news article Hudud: K'tan can follow Qatari model, says deputy MB, extracts of which follows:

The Qatari model for syariah jurisprudence is suitable for Kelantan as it is more modern, said Deputy Menteri Besar Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah. [...]

On March 19, 2015 the Kelantan legislative assembly passed amendments to the Kelantan Syariah Criminal Code II 1993 which expanded the syariah court's jurisdiction.

Among others, the expanded law allowed for capital punishments such as death by stoning or crucifixion. [...]

kt note: Eat your hearts out, you bleeding Christians, don't think 'crucifixion' is only in your religious bailiwick. Oh, how I love to hear those screams of terror and sheer pain as our ulama hammer those spikes into the palms and crossed feet of a criminal.

Meanwhile, Mohd Amar said the Kelantan government was looking to employ surgeons who will carry out amputations under hudud law.

He said this was necessary to ensure the procedure is done correctly without impeding the functions of other body parts.

"In the old days, they just 'potong' (amputate). It may cause damages to other parts," he said.

kt note: Great. More surgical jobs opportunities, and don't forget the blokes who will have to be employed to take care of those separated limbs and what not, and the cleaning so necessary after blood and gore.

Never forget the mundane but essential supporting duties necessary to 'finish' up a well-done job.

As for capital punishments such as death by stoning
or in Islamic term, rejam, as in the offence of zina (adultery), the offender (usually a woman) shall be stoned to death with stones of medium size.

I'm not sure how big or small is medium size? But I suspect stones bigger than the mysterious 'medium size' may end the punishment too fast which may not be what the ulamas have in mind. Stones too small or smaller than 'medium size' may be too cruel as the capital punishment may take too long.

As for amputation, the hallmark of the ulamas' hudud, Muslims needn't worry too much as the amputation shall be compassionately done. Highly qualified orthopaedic surgeons will be in attendance.

It has been clearly stated that amputation of the hand shall only be conducted at the offender's wrist, so those with hunky biceps can stop fretting.

And further good news in the amputation of a foot - it only involves the middle of the foot in such a way that the heel may still be usable for walking and standing. The possible benefit of such a surgery is that those with gout can even get a bonus treatment for their joint pains, to wit, the total severance and elimination of the front section of their aching foot.
