PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court today upheld the conviction and death sentence on nine Filipinos who were charged with waging war against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong over the Lahad Datu intrusion in 2013.
Chief Justice Md Raus Sharif, who chaired a five-man panel, said the court agreed with the appellate court’s decision that death was the most appropriate sentence to be imposed on the nine men based on the findings of the facts of the case.

Those Filipino armed intruders were not only vicious terrorists who murdered our policemen but also exceedingly cruel in mutilating their victims.
But I stand on my belief our justice system must never kill via capital punishment, even to vicious cruel killers such as the nine Filipino intruders. What difference is there then to the Kelantan state government's call for legal amputation of hands?
We as a civilised society must advance humanely and with humanitarianism.
Abolish the death sentence and jail them for life without parole.
Death penalty reinforces the belief that bad things happen to bad people who deserve it.
ReplyDeleteImprisonment in such cases (the most heinous of crimes ) sends a message that the crime committed is somehow not THAT bad.
wrong, death penalty has been shown by many crime authorities to be NOT effective
Deletecivilised societies do not execute human beings

and thus they shall lose their freedom and be imprisoned forevermore, wakakaka
DeleteThey are Suluk patriots.
ReplyDeleteIf the Malaysian govment executed them, they will be martyrs.
patriots of a nation do not mutilate nor desecrate the bodies of their victims. They are pariahs
DeleteThere is always the controversy between death and life sentence. While a life sentence without parole appears more humane, a death sentence in fact, would be more so without the criminal having to live a useless life in prison, perhaps regretting his actions over and over again. It would be some form of torture, wouldn't it? Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteLiken to the softening of the 'pain' of suffering (in solitude) of an injured animal (serial killer) by a quick blow to the head!
DeleteIn cushy, bleeding-heart , liberal Europe , they have banned the sentence of life imprisonment without possibility of parole , as it has been considered a form of mental torture if a prisoner has no ending to his incarceration.
DeleteLife imprisonment is now 20 years max in most European countries.
Perhaps, we should let the convicted criminals commit suicide themselves thereby absolving the executioners the guilt of taking lives. We let them choose the various methods available such as injecting themselves with cyanide, hanging, drowning, hara-kiri, etc. Some food for thought.
Deleteend result, the convict under state custodianship and thus responsibility dies, same as execution
DeleteYr simplistic argument reminds one about 都是社会的錯.
DeleteIt's the fault of society. Hence the society must be responsible to cure/prevent it.
But, what/who is a society le??
Tell me, what is your address? I want to murder you, and i am more than happy to accept life long state custodianship as return.
