The 33-year-old mother of two, who bakes Chinese New Year goodies in her free time, has seen an unexpected windfall after her dog-shaped cookies began selling like hot cakes.
Liew started making the cookies from her home in Kampung Tawas, Ipoh two weeks ago, and has already seen her sales up by 50 per cent compared to last year.
The bump in sales have been boosted by the canine-inspired cookies, which Liew made specially to commemorate the Year of the Dog.
“It’s gotten to a point where I can barely keep up with orders. In two weeks, I already made 80 containers of dog cookies and there are another 50 orders to go,” she said.
Hard working mum. An exemplary model for diligence.
I wonder whether the biscuits is halal? Wakakaka.
There already plans afoot in some local government to require all food sold without Halal certification to be labelled and declared as "Non-Halal".
ReplyDeleteThe two are really two separate matters, but in Mullah Najib's Malaysia, one is increasingly considered the same as the other.
Non-Muslim food businesses will increasingly be ghettorised.
All Muslims know that it is forbidden to eat pork, but it is really a matter of personal choice whether they patronize a restaurant or buy packaged food which does not carry a Halal certification. Mandating compulsory Non-halal labelling will be highly damaging.
