PAS is Zero in Sabah so STFU

MM Online - Don’t question Islam’s status as Sabah’s official religion, PAS warns:

Sabah PAS has cautioned the public today against questioning the status of Islam as the official religion of the state, stating the issue is a “sensitive” one.

The chapter of the Islamist party said the religion’s status is enshrined in Article 5(A) of the state constitution.

“Sabah PAS feels that the issue of religion is final. Let there be no party who bring back such matter,” the chapter’s commissioner Mohd Aminuddin Aling said in a statement.

“If the issue of official religion continues to be a political capital, Sabah PAS is fully confident that it will cause conflicts and dispute.”

The usual PAS' threat and attempt to silence a matter not of their liking by labelling it as 'sensitive'.

Sedikit sedikit 'sensitive', 'don't test our patience' etc etc etc.

Recall Hadi Awang's threat of another 'May 13' if the Penang government brought about local council elections?

That's the mentality of an Islamic party which hasn't even come into federal powers yet.

Continuing with the MM Online article:

Sabah did not have an official religion in line with what was agreed to in the Malaysian Agreement 1963 (MA63).

It was only in 1976 when the now defunct United Sabah National Organisation’s government had changed the situation by amending the Sabah State Constitution by including a new article — Article 5A — which provided that Islam was the official religion of the state.

Last week, Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia challenged those claiming to champion the rights of Sabah to prove their sincerity, among others by amending the Article 5A.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the federal government has no intention and right to take anything that rightfully belongs to Sabah and its people as provided for in the MA63.

MA63 said Sabah did NOT have an official religion. If PM Najib said Putrajaya has no intention and right to take anything that rightfully belongs to Sabah and its people as provided for in the MA63, then Sabah can now, if the state wishes, revert to NOT having an official religion. To wit, the state can officially remove/erase Article 5A from its state constitution.

Who the f**k is PAS to say otherwise or to merajuk and threaten against removal of Article 5A?

For a start, PAS is unelected in Sabah and thus has no representative for that state, a clear indication Sabahans do not want it. Therefore, it lacks the credentials to speak on anything for the people of the state.

Secondly, the constitution was amended to include Article 5A (which makes Islam the state official religion) by the state's 3rd CM, Mustapha Harun, who hated the Catholics and had fantasy of becoming the Caliph of a Mindanao-Sabah caliphate.

Mustapha, much to then-KL's political anguish, funded and armed the Muslim separatists of Philippines, just as the Muslim insurgents of Southern Thailand were likewise by their kinfolks in Northern Malaya-Malaysia.

He rid Sabah of many Catholic priests, antagonising the state's Catholics, but he didn't give a shit. He was one bad warlord. But all his Muslim-ness there were more than a few nasty salacious stories of him less than complimentary to his so-called Islamic leadership, wakakaka.

In those days, Malaya-Malaysia had a bad name in Thai and Filipino circles, as a nasty nation which promoted insurgencies in neighbouring nations.

When Mustapha harboured deep desires to secede Sabah from Malaysia, he over-lived his usefulness to KL and was abandoned to the wolves, thank god for every peace-loving Malaysians.

But back to the present, that Article 5A was arbitrarily done and should now be removed to restore Sabah's status to MA63.

PAS can go f**k spiders.

Sabah has a 65% Muslim population, with Christians a distant second at 26%.
The main reason PAS does not get traction in Sabah is the widespread distrust of Peninsular-based parties in the State.

UMNO has succeeded through being localised , and with heavy levels of patronage.

Be careful what you ask for...many Malaysians will not be happy with the fine print of the original Malaysia 63 agreement.

    Point 10: Citizenship
    c) sub-paragraph (iii) should not contain any restriction tied to the citizenship of parents – a person born in North Borneo after Malaysia must be federal citizen.
