A path blessed by God?

The Malaysian Insight - Tahfiz school razed in blaze in high demand, says principal (extracts):

HUNDREDS of parents have sought to enrol their children in the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah centre, where 19 students and two teachers were killed in a horrific fire two months ago, said principal Mohd Zahid Mahmood.

"I received hundreds of calls from parents who kept asking how to enrol their kids in the centre.

"I asked them, were they not afraid after what had happened? They told me that one could die at any time, but it's better to die on the path blessed by God," he said when met at Sekolah Agama Rakyat Ar-Ridwan in Tasek Gelugor, Penang.

I'm not exactly sure whether above spill has been a self-praise by principal Mohd Zahid Mahmood himself as a promotional exercise, or indeed the parents of would-be students are that faithfully-fatalistic as to say: ... one could die at any time, but it's better to die on the path blessed by God?

Forgive me as a non-Muslim to wonder at the claim that to die in a burning building, tahfiz as that might have been, has been a path blessed(?) by God.

As the Police had said it was arson and murder, and mums of those killed were crying away, indeed I wonder at such words told to us by principal Mohd Zahid Mahmood himself???
