Turkish pot calling Myanmar kettle black

MM Online - Turkey’s Erdogan calls killing of Rohingya in Myanmar genocide:

ANKARA, Sept 1 — Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said today that the death of hundreds of Rohingya in Myanmar over the past week constituted a genocide aimed at Muslim communities in the region.

Nearly 400 people have died in fighting that has rocked Myanmar’s northwest for a week, new official data showed, making it probably the deadliest bout of violence to engulf the country’s Rohingya Muslim minority in decades.

“There is a genocide there. They remain silent towards this... All those looking away from this genocide carried out under the veil of democracy are also part of this massacre,” Erdogan said at his ruling AK Party’s Eid al-adha celebrations in Istanbul.

The army says it is conducting clearance operations against “extremist terrorists” to protect civilians.

Erdogan, with his roots in political Islam, has long strived to take a position of leadership among the world’s Muslim community. He said it was Turkey’s moral responsibility to take a stand against the events in Myanmar.

Around 38,000 Rohingya have crossed into Bangladesh from Myanmar, United Nations sources said, a week after Rohingya insurgents attacked police posts and an army base in Rakhine state, prompting clashes and a military counteroffensive.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan should be the last person to talk about 'genocide' when his country had been responsible for the genocides of (Christian) Armenians and Kurds. It's a f**king obscene joke.

Apart from known genocides of Armenians and Kurds the Turks also massacred Greeks, Assyrians and Bulgarians in far earlier years.

  2. The USA is already worn out by wars and Trump. The OIC has no will to intervene. Aung San Suu Kyi and Narendra Modi and Hitler is a 2 x 5 kaki. Yes, the UN/Brits should do a population transfer of the Rohingyans to the Falklands. It is a better place than Siberia.

    1. Aung San Suu Kyi like Hitler?? C'mon lah Bro. The Myanmars don't look upon the Rohingyas as lovable babies. The Rohingyas were (still are) racist and arrogant towards the locals as Fijian Indians are. On top of that, some of the younger Rohingya males have now become insurgents.

Falklands can only be a fantasy. I don't believe the Rohingyas can survive there. They should be repatriated to Bangladesh their Motherland. They belong to the same ethnic group, speak the same language, practise the same custom and have the same religion - kow tim.

The Brits must donate generously to the repatriation process and subsequent resettlement with, say, tens if not hundreds of billions of sterling pounds

    2. Bangladesh has no capacity to accept the Rohingyans. Moreover, the Rohingyans don't like Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and also her daughter until today. How many Banglas are in Malaysia now? And another 2.0 million are coming in? Yesterday, I received a Hari Raya Haji greeting in Bangla. OMG!

Guess who is taking the lead in foisting a Brit problem onto Aung Sun Su Kyi?
    The root of all evils!
Sane people must come out in full force to expose these hypocrisy of the fucking Brits!

  4. For over 20 years, when Myanmar suffered under the boot of the military Junta, including the massacres in 2007, the OIC was silent, and Malaysia happily did business with Myanmar.

Now they are jumping up and down over the Rohingyas. Sounds like double standards to me.

Malaysia, just like other countries who often talk loudly about opposing those interfering in the internal affairs of other countries, should shut up now.... what is true for the goose, is also true for the gander.
