PKR-DAP poaching season

MM Online - After Johor PKR rebuke, DAP denies demanding ‘Chinese’ seats (extracts):

The three PKR seats in Johor sought by DAP are not Chinese-majority constituencies, Lim Kit Siang said today.

The DAP parliamentary leader also stressed that his party was not interested in the seats — Johor Baru, Tebrau and Pasir Gudang — purely because they have large Chinese electorates.

“A question has been raised as to whether DAP should get a Chinese-majority seat by virtue of being a Chinese party?

“The answer is a triple negative: 'No' to DAP should get a Chinese-majority seat 'by virtue of being a Chinese party'; 'No' to DAP being a Chinese party; and 'No' to any one of the three parliamentary in Johor Baru as Chinese-majority seats,” Lim said in a statement today.

Lim provided voter data to show that the Chinese accounted for 43 per cent of voters in Johor Baru, and 38 per cent in both Tebrau and Pasiru Gudang.

The DAP parliamentary leader then lamented that the Barisan Nasional's perspective of his party was now being shared by an ally, in apparent reference to a PKR leader's response to Lim's expressed intent to contest the three seats.

PKR candidates contested all three Johor seats in Election 2013.

Naughty naughty Uncle Lim, though mind you, what Uncle Lim has attempted to do is typical of what PKR has been doing to the DAP, wakakaka.

The most disgusting example of PKR poaching (curi-ing) DAP seats was in the last Sarawak state election - for more, see my Dec 2015 PKR signals war to DAP in Sarawak.

Additionally, I also narrated what the MM Online reported in April 2016, as follows:

DAP's Anthony Loke insisted that PKR was the one that reneged on the seat talks and revealed details of the negotiations to prove its claim.

He also revealed that during negotiations, DAP and PKR had engaged pollster Merdeka Center to conduct a survey on six of the 11 seats that both parties had been eyeing for the elections.

According to Loke, the pollster’s findings favoured the DAP in all but one of the surveyed constituencies.

The Seremban MP then said the two had agreed that DAP would take Senadin, Mulu, Murum, Ngemah, Mambong, Tasik Biru, Simanggang and Bukit Semuja, while PKR would contest the Batu Kitang, Marudi, Machan, Layar and Belaga seats.

But at the close of nominations yesterday, PKR and DAP were seen pitted against one another in six seats, namely Mambong, Simanggang, Murum, Mulu, Ngemah and Batu Kitang.

An earlier report said PKR's Tian Chua had been the one who insisted on the Merdeka survey but when he discovered that the pollster's findings favoured DAP in most of the disputed seats, he reneged on the agreement - no surprise of course, Tian Chua being Tian Chua.

Needless to say, his Dökkálfar Faction leader, wakakaka, Azmin Ali was right behind him. Azmin of course conveniently placed the blame in Baru Bian, saying the PKR state leader had autonomy in deciding where to stand, notwithstanding the two party had already signed agreement on seat sharing-allocation.

We know Azmin's placing autonomous responsibility on Baru Bian was sheer bullshit as PKR has been notorious for its obsession with centralized control from KL - yessir, for PKR under Azmin Ali, there is no such words as 'autonomy' for the state branch - we witnessed that in Sabah.

Besides, Rafizi Ramli and Xavier Jeyakumar said that in the Sarawak election, PKR President Wan Azizah was the ONLY one in PKR who had the authority to sign off candidates for the Sarawak elections, and that she had NOT assigned her powers to anyone.

Thus what Uncle Lim has done would be considered 'poaching' PKR allocated seats but that's fair game as what's good for the goose should be good for the gander, wakakaka.

And if PKR was incapable of winning in those seats in 2013, let the DAP do it.

Wakakaka.

  1. Now that Mahathir is the boss of the opposition pact,PKR can no more use the taikor bully pulpit mentality anymore. They can no longer demand seats that they cannot win anyway.Instead they will have to take whatever the coalition gives to them.Or else get the fuck out, besides who need them anyway.

What the good for nothings in the PKR leadership did not realize is that the people have lost confidence in them. With Mahathir as the boss of the opposition pact,PKR had lost it's clout within the coalition. And even without self implosion,PKR had already been delegated to a mosquito party.

  2. PKR has been contesting Johor Baru, Tebrau and Pasir Gudang constituencies over 4 General Elections - 1999, 2004, 2008 and 2013.

The first two GEs were hopeless endeavours, as Johor voters were still fast asleep in their "BN is great" dream, but PKR persisted.

Johor urban voter attitudes have now changed, and these seats are now competitive for the Opposition..so DAP is now hungrily eyeing the seats.

Is DAP a party which only turns up when the weather is good ? Pordah !
