PAS in Selangor exco with DAP

PAS vice-president Iskandar Abdul Samad, who is also the PAS commissioner for Selangor, had asserted he did not attend the official launch of Pribumi because of the presence of DAP and Amanah there, as PAS had avowed it would not cooperate with these two parties.

He stated (defensively?) that PAS absence has nothing to do with PAS allying itself to UMNO.

But now, PAS’ Mahfuz Omar questioned him, saying Iskandar’s statement indicates that PAS would also avoid attending Selangor exco and municipal council meetings because DAP would also be there, wakakaka.

I hope so and if those PAS Aduns attend Selangor exco meetings then they would be hypocrites of the highest order.

But I doubt those PAS Aduns would give up their lil' modicum of authority.

The lust for power is some similar to an earlier situation in Penang. At that time, PAS was still a member of Pakatan Rakyat.

Then, Pak Haji Hadi Awang made a threat to DAP that if the latter, leading the Pakatan Rakyat Penang state government, were to hold 3rd level elections for local councils there, there would be another May 13.

Why a May 13 threat when we consider that the tragedy of May 13 had more to do with a 1969 UMNO being sore loser and frightened of the state of Selangor going to the then-opposition of Gerakan and DAP (PPP and PAS were also part of the 1969 informal coalition but did not contest in Selangor)?

Indeed, why would PAS, then a Pakatan Rakyat member, threaten another May 13 racial riot just because of the prospect of a Penang PR government holding elections for local councils?

Well, Pak Haji was worried that PAS members would not be ELECTED into town councils where then some were APPOINTED by the Pakatan Rakyat state government.

Then in Penang, PAS members could only hope of being APPOINTED and not being ELECTED as they did not enjoy very many voters support.

But they wanted state power and the enjoyment of authority. Thus Pak Haji attempted to dissuade Guan Eng from silly notions as democratic elections.

Like most religious-based organizations, PAS preferred and still prefers authoritarian government rather than democracy, which would in general militates against their prospects of being elected.

Thus religious based political parties, of all religions, in a democratic environment, would usually resort to dropping god's (or gods') name(s) to propel their political aspirations election prospects, because if they don't they won't be supported, wakakaka.

But a non-democratic environment is more preferred, like in Saudi Arabia, Brunei, and the sacerdotal states of once-Tibet, once-the Holy See, once-the Kingdom of Israel (United Monarchy), etc.

Thus, PAS Aduns in Selangor will continue attending exco meetings because that's where the power and enjoyment of authority would be, while there is f**k-all at the official launch of Pribumi.

As PAS would probably say, F**K principles, wakakaka.
