Mahathir's American lobbyist

FMT - Mahathir asking why PM Najib would demonstrate:

SHAH ALAM: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad questioned why Prime Minister Najib Razak was resorting to demonstrating for the Rohingya when he had the authority to settle their problems more diplomatically.

“When I was PM and Aung (Myanmar’s de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi) got arrested, I wrote a letter and sent someone to meet her.

“I personally met with an envoy from Myanmar and brought him to show how democracy can work because at that level we don’t have to resort to demonstrations,” he said at a press conference in conjunction with the DAP national conference here today.

He said demonstrations were reserved for those who were against the government, not for the government itself.

Well Maddy, your erstwhile mentor student and now archenemy did it for domestic consumption. Ah Jib Gor is so cunning that while he won't act officially to criticize Myanmar he joined the demonstration to appease local Muslims, wakakaka.

Yes Maddy, general election is just around the corner, wakakaka.

In a way Najib is unlike Maddy who offended foreign governments to show locals what a hero he was but behind the scene would pay American lobbyist, Jack Abramoff, handsomely (reported to be RM1.6 million) to have a chitchat with George Bush.

SMH reported that Abramoff is an Orthodox Jew and avid supporter of Israel, and was then asked whether he was comfortable representing Malaysia led by Mahathir, a man known for anti-Semitic comments.

Abramoff responded: "They pay their bills on time."

Wakakaka, what a bloody hypocrite Maddy was.

  1. Dr M does not have the moral right to criticize Datuk Najib any more. Dr M's agenda is to crush Malays in Malaysia as an agent of DAP.This is a negative destructive action. Datuk Najib, on the other hand, joins with Malays to save the Rohingyas from presecution. This is a positive action.

    1. i guess u dun even know dap stance on rohingya (except the penang govt n their cm, talk kok no 1), n how the bn govt pretence as if nothing
happen. what mahathir said is perfectly make sense from a govt pov. however i can agree mahathir is a hypocrite, but since dap have to problem to welcome a hypocrite n even let him occupied the centre stage, dap is equally hypocrite, as usual the batemoc could only see others blindness.

  3. Lets be very clear.

Mahathir condemning the USA, then paying a lobbyist to grovel for a meeting with the USA President was certainly hypocrisy.

Najib, the current Ruling Party President, taking part in a public demonstration to condemn Burma, but not daring to say the same through official diplomatic channels under his control, is no less another form of hypocrisy.

That is NOT some sort of admirable cunning.

Allah's chosen one was not lifting a finger for the Rohingyas before he needed his photo-op.

This was how much the govt "cared" before:

"(May 19): A motion to debate in Parliament the plight of Rohingya and Bangladeshi migrants stranded in boats off Malaysia's western coast was rejected today.

Sungai Siput MP Dr M. Jeyakumar Devaraj, who filed the motion, expressed disappointment at the rejection, adding that the House had missed an opportunity to discuss ideas that could help Putrajaya deal with the crisis.

Jeyakumar told reporters in the Parliament lobby that the matter should be debated on humanitarian grounds.

In his motion filed, Dr Jeyakumar said Malaysia's policy to push back refugee boats to sea was an irresponsible action that tarnished the country's image in the international arena.

The motion also carried suggestions by a few Pakatan Rakyat MPs for the government to consider, including discussions with other Asean countries on ways to address the refugee crisis responsibly.

"We just want to discuss this crisis, it is not about slamming the government. Discussions and solutions are needed," Dr Jeyakumar said.

The refugee crisis was also intertwined with human trafficking, the PR MPs added in the motion.

Malaysia is the current Asean chairman, and has been warned by opposition politicians that its failure to be proactive in providing humanitarian assistance to the boat refugees and to pressure Myanmar to stop persecuting the Rohingya minority would render its chairmanship useless.

Malaysia has been turning away refugee boats and preventing them from coming ashore, drawing international and domestic criticism. The United Nations has reminded Malaysia and other countries in the region of international obligations to rescue the migrants and to prevent their refoulement if they faced persecution at home."

Hypocrisy is the one thing he does well.

Ah Jib Gor is so cunning INDEED!!!!
