The awakening has begun

From Malaysia-Today's Press pounces on Anwar and Azmin:

PKR de facto leader and deputy president were castigated in a media conference by reporters from various news portals and newspapers as the pair faced accusations of being the culprits responsible for inciting protesters to invade the barricaded Dataran Merdeka during last weekend's Bersih 3.0 rally.

Both Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Azmin Ali found themselves on the defense during in yesterday’s press conference at the party headquarters, deflecting onslaughts from distraught journalists from both pro-government media as well as those known to have leaning towards the Opposition. [...]

However, Anwar was confronted once again when a Bersih 3.0 protester, Benjy Lim, suddenly came up and accused the Opposition leader of being responsible for causing the chaos.

Lim said Anwar’s purported action of inciting protesters had caused people to be exposed to danger where lives were at risk.

“I know how the police operate in this country because I was not born yesterday. The riot happened because the Opposition started it,” said Lim, who had refused to accept Anwar’s explanation that the police were the ones to blame.

Upon failing to give an objective explanation to Lim’s accusation, Anwar then promised to ‘entertain’ Lim in a separate session as the conference was exclusively for the media.

Pordah!

In The Malaysian Insider's The Bersih that wasn't columnist Dina Zaman wrote (extracts):

A former journalist Asohan Aryaduray wrote in his Facebook page “Except that we were not that united. Elements in the crowd were confusing the issue. By the time we had reached Masjid Jamek there were pockets of people shouting ‘F Lynas ’, ‘Hancur BN’ and that late 1990s terminally ill horse ‘Reformasi’”.

Hijackers ler. There were also shouts of ‘Hancur Rosmah’ (WTF has this got to do with Bersih?) – guess which party supporters would make those party-instigated calls?

Many genuine Bersih supporters shook their heads quietly at that but nobody was going to gainsay another’s right to freedom of expression, I guess.

So many felt betrayed and angry. Even me.

But now I see videos of protestors breaking down the barriers and committing acts of violence. And yes, while the police showed more restraint this time they were behind some of these as well. Al-Jazeera journalists reported via Skype that their equipment was smashed by policemen to prevent them recording some of these acts of violence.

Despite suffering from the teargas effects I myself have not the spirit to summon the moral indignation I would like to have because although they should have done so lawfully I cannot blame the police for taking action against violent protestors.

What can we Malaysians expect post April 28 2012?

With a video circulating showing that Anwar Ibrahim and Azmin Ali had ordered the Dataran breach this does not bode well for Pakatan and the rakyat. This is a massive public relations disaster. The average Malaysian like me can only tear her hair out.

And now we are told that the duo were signalling to the police. What is this — Tonto and the Lone Ranger?

As I said on Twitter all this resembled a Hindustani film. Throw in a tree and a pair of sarees and we ll have a great sandiwara.

Meanwhile, Dina's sister TMI columnist Erna Mahyuni wrote the best in On being forced to vote for an idiot in which her article encapsulated the moronic mindless Myrmidon mentality of anwaristas, as follows:

What is with this “you’re either with us or against us”-policy with Pakatan Rakyat?

When you point out the opposition pact’s flaws poor decisions and general lack of leadership — especially where PKR is concerned — you’re painted as a BN stooge apologist.

Wakakaka, to those lemmings I'm paid by UMNO (wish I was) when I told the truth about selfish self-centred shameless Anwar (and Azmin) being treacherous to Ambiga by hijacking her Bersih and sabotaging her fine efforts in deliberately ignoring her instruction for Bersih to disperse, all for Anwar's self interest.

Watch it, Ambiga, Anwar may also promise to ‘entertain’ you as he did Benjy Lim in a separate session when he couldn't answer Benjy's condemnation of him for his (Anwar's) alleged action of inciting protesters and consequently causing people to be exposed to danger where lives were at risk wakakaka.

To be honest I don’t think anyone can truly be neutral. Choosing not to side with any political party doesn’t make you neutral — you’re pretty much declaring that you don’t hold for any party. In a perfect ideal world these people who think that both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat aren’t worth siding with would merely be called what they are, Non-partisan. Or to put it bluntly, You all suck.

Thus we the non-partisan refuse to cheer for you or wave your flag. For anyone who refuses to drink either BN or PR’s Kool-Aid, most of our so-called leaders seem hardly worthy of power.

On one side we have the ruling coalition made up of old dead furniture whose youth wings are made up of old fogeys and whose women’s wings are mostly populated by breathy cheerleader types who wave shawls instead of pom-poms. Then we have the other side heavily populated by ex-members of the aforementioned side whose wings don’t look much different. PR at least has some notably capable women leaders who seem smart articulate and capable.

That's why they behave like UMNO!

Some days it seems both sides compete to see who can flub the most. There’s our delusional education minister who insists our education is better than in the UK or US. There’s the Opposition Leader who made Azmin Ali PKR Sabah chief.

Wakakaka, and what a miserable failure he was, totally rejected by Sabahans. Azmin's 'finest' and only 'achievement' was when he managed to have Rosmah Mansor removed as the honorary Chancellor of Selangor's Unisel. That political midget was so proud of his mean-spirited 'achievement' that he twittered "MB agreed and will announce in one month. Thunderous applause."

Thunderous applause? Wakakaka.

Yes I’ve harped about it many times and I will continue to do so to remind everyone just why PKR is such a failure in Sabah.

 Amin.

  1. Najib is the person you need to guarantee stability and responsible government.
Anwar Ibrahim and Azmin Ali are dangerous schemers who will stop at nothing to seek any advantage.
And it doesn't stop there. Pakatan Rakyat is full of such loose cannons.

Support Barisan Nasional for responsible government.

It is as simple as this.Just put Anwar,Azmin and Tian Chua on air asia and send them packing to Zimbabwe.Anwaristas will soon be swarming in by the hoards, screaming and pulling their hair off.Yek.It hurts.Hahaha.

  4. Anwar is not just a failure in Sabah. He's a loser every step of the way.
As I said in your previous posting, Benjy Lim was shooed out. Entertain him, sorry. Anwar's not a person who genuinely loves people. It's always about himself.
It's nice to know people who are sooo neutral and not for BN like Dina Zaman are beginning to realize what Anwar and Keadilan stands for.
That's why I said Bersih 3 is a blessing in disguise because the self-confessed b-i-partisan people began to see Anwar's chicanery.
Now Hishamuddin wants to set up an independent panel to investigate what really happened.
A waster of tax-payers money. Just play back all the videos and it's clear who were the instigators.
Send them the bills for all the damages that day. Throw them in prison.
Why only catch that Seremban PKR fella. Nab his big boss and the latest sex video star.

  5. Vote Pakatan still, but boycott AI, AA and Saifuddin Nasution, the man whom AI, as acting PM, sent (together with numerous UMNO Youth thugs) to wreck Apcet II in the worst act of sanctioned hooliganism until the recent police thuggerism at Bersih 3.0

  6. What Anwaristas do not understand or are blind to,is that are many many more better younger leaders waiting on the sidelines, more than ready to take over, when the irrelevant overstaying soon to fade away leaders are gone.

If Najib leads the Umno/BN to defeat in GE 13th,will that be the end of Umno. No,they will lick their wounds, consolidate and come back stronger in GE14th.

Anwaristas should learn from the DAP.DAP has smell dirt a couple of times and they always come back stronger each time around.

  8. Regardless, Anwar and Azmin should not be held accountable for instructing the crowd to break through the barrier
I have seen the video currently making headlines in the newspaper allegedly depicting Anwar instructing Azmin to break through the police barrier
From how I see it and backed by people on site, Anwar can be clearly seen and heard saying “nego” to Azmin, indicating that Azmin was been instructed to negotiate with police

Despite that, Azmin still have to face the music for a speech delivered prior to the events depicted in the video, which is instigative in nature, telling the crowd to break through the barrier no matter what
This too is information provided by friends who are on site

  9. The comments made before me are obviously overly tinged with emotions and a disregard to logic

To say Anwar is failure every step of the way is a complete overstatement
True, Anwar like any other human has his flaws and negative points throughout his political career in both UMNO and opposition but let's not forget that because of him, we are seeing democracy flourish after 54 years of independence and has made way for a two party system where both sides of the political divide cannot exercise their authority according to their whims and fancies without going through intense scrutiny from the other side

Please bear in mind that Bersih would not have become what it is today if weren't for the support and recognition provided by Anwar and the opposition coalition he helped founded

And I believe that last Saturday's rally would not have had that large of a crowd turnout if it weren't for the promotion by PR and they would had trouble with crowd control if it weren't for the assistance from PAS's Unit Amal

  10. Razan,

this I have to digress a bit.a court order is a court order, one can appeal by getting a lawyer to file an appeal.even cutie hisham cannot order his policeboys to let the protestors in.if he is so understanding, kind and wanted to.so what can a mata mata do to nego.nego means gogogo.

  11. Bruno,
If you go by the same line of reasoning that it is unlawful to go into Dataran because there is a court order, what about the congregation of people for Bersih 2.0. Wasn't it illegal too?

The authoriities have made it clear that the protestors can protest all they want as long as they do not breach the baricades.Ambiga also reminded the protestors on Friday not to breach the baricades. That is the line not to crossed.

Everybody knows that once the baricades are breached, the attack dogs will be set loose. So why provoked the police when officially the protest was already a success, and Ambiga has already asked the protestors to dispersed.

  13. Supporters of these instigators argued that Dataran Merdeka belongs to the people. How about Putrajaya, the government buildings and the GLC's etc. They also belong to the people. Why not take the broom brigade,go in and chased out the corrupted Umnoputras and their goons. That would be more easier,as it gurantees the boot to the corrupted regime. Why go to so much trouble for peaceful Bersih 3.0 when mob mentality rules the day.

  14. In the first flush of the 2008 Tsunami, many of us who had so much hope for a fresh, new political scenario in Malaysia have now, four years down the the road, to contend with the painful realisation that PR will most be unlikely to push BN off the perch, come this GE13.

These 4 years after the last GE is littered with huge blunders made mostly by PKR, the weakest link in PR. Most were thoroughly put off by their UMNO-ness, both in Peninsula and in the East.

I guess it is too much to ask the beast to change its nature. Very apt this ancient saying : one could even level down and landscape a whole mountain but it is impossible to change one's character and nature.

Conclusion - if it is difficult to defeat BN, then the next best recourse is to at least maintain status quo, deny them the two-thirds majority and ensure the jewel in the crown ( Selangor ) do not fall into the adversary's hand.

And in the aftermath, prepare thoroughly for GE14 by getting rid of the UMNO in PKR ( meaning of "getting rid" as in shooing away, not changing them as that's an impossible call.) Then we need to bring in as many non UMNO, non BTN-ized malays into the Opposition Coalition. This time, no empty oratory shouting, no empty promises, no moronic strategies, no taiko-ing, no self-interest dreams of being PM. Basically, cakap serupa bikin - then we will see real change for our country.

  16. The action of DBKL in locking down Datatan M was a provocative action. DBKL should have reached an agreement with Bersih on the venue without revealing the details of the disagreement.

The whole thing was intended to cause confusion, frustration and police violence - and, the police were well prepared to inleash the usual same shit different times.

The same people who is saying main stream media is totally one sided and prejudiced when it comes to DSai and PKR lose their senses .

Who is Benjy lim then huh? He is the most accredited to be believed journalist in malaysia is it ?

The day I believe anything the main stream media says will b the day I say ktemoc talks sense.

Again more distraction from the fact that PDRM had totally overreacted with their brutality and beatings.

But then again there exists idiots in Malaysia who will agree with whatever PDRM says.

Lastly, how could Lim said Anwar started the riot ? Police practically bashed up so many people even outside the Dataran Merdeka.....but then again he was wearing 1Malaysia T shirt, does that ring the bell ?

  23. I want to send this message to UMNO Pulau Pinang and UMNO Selangor. I dont know about Selangor UMNO too much but I hope the Penang boys will wake up.

What happened yesterday in Kuala Lumpur has nothing to do with "freedom of speech", "freedom of assembly" and other crap. These are just their satanic lies. What they really set out to do and what they have achieved is to create chaos and havoc. They even broke the roller shutters at the LRT station. You can see the picture here.

Why would they want to break the roller shutters at the LRT station? Lim Guan Eng and Lim Kit Siang are the two satans who succesfully manipulated some of the bebudak bodoh bangang to run riot in the Federal capital. And Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng are not worried because they are creating havoc around the kawasan perniagaan orang Islam dan orang Melayu in Kuala Lumpur. There are fewer Chinese businesses operating around this area.

(Dont worry, maybe the next peaceful assembly by the UMNO boys will be held around Mid Valley Mega Mall, Jalan Bukit Bintang, One Utama, Subang Parade and other such places. Lets spread the goodwill around a little shall we? I am sure the forces of "peaceful assembly" wont mind too much).

For the past 10 days or so hampir kesemua peniaga di kawasan Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Melayu dan Jalan Masjid India di Kuala Lumpur telah mengalami kerugian besar akibat daripada gangguan kepada lalulintas dan juga kekhuatiran awam tentang keselamatan akibat daripada penyokong Pakatan Rakyat yang berkhemah di Dataran Merdeka dan akhir sekali rusuhan liar mereka pada hari Sabtu 28hb April 2012.

  31. It has been a difficult few days for me as I sift through the debris of Bersih 3.0 However, I have always believed in honesty , and I wall call things as I see it.

There are two very important concepts at work here. Individual Free Will and Responsibility, and, with regard to Armed, Uniformed government services - discipline, accountability and the chain of command.

Anwar Ibrahim and Azmin Ali acted irresponsibly and dangerously last Saturday. It is clear that they instigated the crowd near front of the barrier to push open the barrier and move towards Dataran Merdeka. The responsibility for breaching the barricades rests heavily on them.

I want to make Very, Very clear, though.
To put it bluntly Polis DiRaja Malaysia carried out a riot on the streets of Kuala Lumpur on April 28. The PDRM Rioted, get it ?
I consider chain of command of Polis DiRaja Malaysia principally responsible for the Riot carried out by their personnel.
The Command authority of the PDRM failed in its responsibility to ensure its uniformed members carry out their duties responsibly.

I took note of the ridiculous IGP non-apology to the Malay Mail journalist who was beaten up by police. "In the chaos of the situation we could not tell the difference between the assembly participants and media". Huh ???

That statement more than ever confirms that PDRM on that day deliberately set out to rain violence on the Bersih participants; not to control the crowd; not to arrest troublemakers.

Simply blaming it on Anwar or Azmin is a cop out. And simply inviting the continuation of the dismal standard of governance in the country.

I call upon the IGP to resign.

  32. Neo-partisan political blogs like Kemtoc (who claims to be neutral) is clearly a joke on himself.

All readers of his repetitive blog should remind themselves this truth: WHAT MATTERS IN MALAYSIAN POLITICS TODAY IS NOT THE PERSONALITIES OR CHARACTERS. THESE LEADERS, HOWEVER TAINTED, ARE MERE VEHICLES FOR THE THE COUNTRY TO EVOLVE, REFORM AND CLEAN ITSELF FROM CORRUPTION, GREED AND FRAUD AT ALL LEVELS. IF NAJIB/ANWAR ARE GOOD GUYS TODAY, THEY CAN TURN BAD GUYS TOMORROW. WHAT MATTERS IS THE ACTIONS THEY TAKE. AND THE ACTIONS OF PDRM AT THE HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL BERSIH 3.0 SHOW US NAJIBS'S TRUE COLOURS AS FAR AS REFORM/JUSTICE IS CONCERNED.

A corrupt leader is a corrupt leader if under his watch, his ministers or ministers wives and children take money from tax-payers to enrich themselves. You can put lipstick on a crocodile, it is still a crocodile crying crocodile tears.

    Hey Ktemoc,
You seem to enjoy quoting Malaysia Today now and then, nowadays.
    Why not this quotation.

What is so wrong with stepping onto the green grass of Dataran Merdeka? What is the harm in doing that? If the Bersih 3.0 demonstrators can assemble on the streets surrounding Dataran Merdeka, if that is not an issue, why is stepping foot on Dataran Merdeka such a serious crime that warrants the use of force, even to the extent of getting a court order to make the use of force even more legitimate and legal?

    http://malaysia-today.net/mtcolumns/guest-columnists/49127-violence-against-malaysia

    ReplyDelete
  38. There is nothing wrong at all with stepping onto the green grass of the Dataran Merdeka.

But isn't the real issue not so much the 'sanctity' of that square patch of greens as much as it is just an excuse for UMNO to show its power and a pre-planned strategy to blame and villify the protestors as irresponsible and violent athough clearly UMNO have planted agent provocateurs in the midst to cause trouble ?

That is why the very last thing Ambiga and the peaceful protestors wanted was for the PR politicians to hijack this civic movement project and turn it into dramatic photo op for the local, and international media, all for their own selfish ends, with no regards for the lives and saftey of the protestors, inspite of knowing the brutality of the fiendish UMNO henchmen.

So instead of co-operating with Ambiga, certain politicians acted exactly like the adversaries they had loudly castigated almost on a daily basis. Now with all the chaos and rioting, the MSM have hijacked Bersih 3.0, having a field day with blaring headlines about the 'violence' and 'anarchy' of the protestors. Whereas the real message is quite lost....i.e. an unprecendented 300,000 turn-up on that day, a massive show of discontent with the present government.

To hell with these types of politicians on both sides of the divide.
